I eat at least a bag of onions a week, and I don't always want to have to get out my mandolin slicer for just the one or two onions that I eat with meals. This slicer is just what I needed to slice onions more evenly, and it's comfortable for my small hands to grip.The tines of this slicer are quite sharp and sink easily into onions or softer foods. This slicer also works quite well for slicing boiled eggs to add onto sandwiches or salads, as well as for evenly slicing tomatoes and butter pats.I adore the skull look of this slicer! I have an odd sense of humor and this cartoony skull is just the sort of thing that I love.This slicer seems pretty durable, and the herb stripper nostrils are good for using on my homegrown rosemary, sage, and mint sprigs. This slicer is easy to clean with a dish brush, and doesn't trap water where the tines meet the skull.A small bit of caution about the safety of this slicer: This slicer comes with a small plastic cover to put on the tines when not in use, but the cover might be difficult for some to put back onto the tines. These have a fun looking design and work pretty good at poking things. The skull look might not be everyone, but I like it. The grip on these really needs to be bigger. There is not much to hold, and the edge of the handle is super thin. It works though and makes slicing easier and marinating more penetrating. Cute design and a good value for what it does.

I do not like the fact that this looks like a creepy skull, but everything else about it I like. It works great to hold items so you can cut it without worrying about your fingers getting sliced, since your holding hand is on the handle and not on the food item. I tried it out on items I had at home: cheese, and apple, a carrot, and a partial onion. Cheese is difficult to slice with a knife, but it worked ok. It was difficult to stick the prongs into the hard carrot, but it worked ok, as well. The apple was a breeze. It will definitely work well on softer fruits and veges. I had relatively even slices. You do have to move the prongs if the item is bigger to continue slicing. Overall, I had fun playing with it as soon as I opened the package.It did not come with directions for use. I read previous reviews that there might be other uses? An instruction sheet would have been nice because multi-use tools are more intriguing.

I used one of these at my friend's place when he was chopping an onion. I thought it was goofy, but after seeing what a good job it made, I had to get one! It basically fixes the fruit that you're cutting to a cutting board, and allows you to move your knife back and fort between its metal pieces to get a consistent cut. It's very easy to use and makes chopping onions or eggplant soooo easy. Since the pins are a bit separated, nothing gets stuck in between, which in turn makes cleaning very easy. So far, I've used it with onions, tomatoes and a oranges. I get a perfect slice every time! Another bonus that my friends version didn't have is the herb stripper. I was able to feed a branch of oregano to the biggest hole and just pulled it... worked great! Highly recommended!

This is a great purchase. I haven't had a chance to use it for slicing yet, but I've used the herb strippers and they work great. I like that the spikes come with a cover so it's safe and won't poke me when not in use. It's going to make my slicing much more even and quicker. I love that it's dishwasher safe. And the skull shape is adorable!! I highly recommend this kitchen tool. :)

This was awkward for me to use because of my hands and the shape is weird. I thought it would be good for holding things since I have issues but it was easier for me to not use it than use it.It would be easier to use if it were a little smaller in the handle area and it was hard to push into the veggies. I alsontried it on a roast to hold the roast

Fun cutter with VERY sharp tines! Nice addition to the kitchen tool collection.Glad they included a guard for the end of those tines.
