It works better than any grease splatter item than I have tried in the past. I wish it was just a little bigger. I still use it on my 12" skillet, however, it doesn't sit on the edge, but inside the skillet. It's easy to clean, especially using "Greased Lighting" spray.

I am one of these comparison-shopping CEOs. I will not spend money unless I have exhausted all the research for the item, both by reading reviews and doing my own due diligence. I did not want to spend $50 plus on a splatter preventer, so I chose something mid range, which looked good. As have said other reviewers, it does not prevent 100% of this splattering, but it is at least three times more preventative than my regular all mesh splatter preventers. I chose this item because a substantial amount of the item is covered in aluminum with only probably a third mesh. Just as I suspected the fact that there is that border of stainless, preventing the splattering, is enough to contribute to considerable quality results. I was somewhat hesitant because another Amazon reviewer had said something about difficulty in cleaning it. I, who am a verified OCD cleanliness freak, did not find that problem., Neither when I washed it, my hand or when I put it in the dishwasher and it came out just fine from the dishwasher, which I was happy about. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I do recommend.

The slight conical shape and the staggered bends not only make it compatible with pans of varying diameter, but the fact that it's not a 100% mesh screen actually is better since splatter originating from the edge of the pan is what will travel the farthest out of the pan so the solid stainless steel portion keeps oil splatter contained from the sides contained. The screen mesh in the center is large enough to keep condensation low and allow steam to escape during cooking. The handle is detachable and folds inward for compact storage.

I haven't used it yet but I really like it. It will fit my largest fry pans. I love the way its made and the handle turns in. Great buy!

Not a good purchase at all!! I had this splatter screen for just over a month. Used it a few times and it worked fine. Used it again yesterday and it somehow got stuck in the pan while I was cooking burgers. There was absolutely no way to remove it. I had to cut the screen to get the burgers out, and throw away my nonstick pan and obviously the splatter screen with it. I'm really unhappy to have lost 2 kitchen products from this, especially my pan that was not ready for the trash.

This screen does the job, but it traps steam while cooking and if you're frying you know what that means. Big splatters. I can see this item building up grease after a while. And getting sticky. Also, it lays flat so when you need to mix your cooking food, it lays flat on the counter creating a greasy mess there instead of everywhere else. Figure out how to lean it on something. I have a single burner so, putting it on the other cooking top isn't an option. I hardly use it bc it's so big and surprisingly, hard to handle. I only cook for myself and only use it while cooking in my biggest pan. If you have a giant kitchen... This might be a good option.
