I bought this for a small solar installation. I need a 30A TT-30 RV outlet, and this box was the perfect fit for my project. It is very compact and space saving, has a protective dust cap, is weather proof, and was very easy to install. The housing is very robust and well constructed. It is a high quality outlet and is performing flawlessly. It is also ETL Intertek safety certified for lighting/power products.I think that this is a terrific product which is safety certified, high quality, and a compact space saving super design. I give it 5 stars.

This is a very nice and quality built product. It is an excellent choice for any level 2 mounted charger. Comes with drywall anchors and screws, weather proof and solid. I would recommend to anyone looking for an electrical junction to tie into your power source giving you a plug port for anything 220v related (air compressor, welder, level 2 EV charger, etc). Happy with the price (compare it to Home Depot or Lowes) where you have to fabricate something similar, and it still won't be as nice as this one.

This unit is quite nice and the size is compact, a bit more compact than would be ideal.I used it for alum #6 for my level 2 EV charger. I got message from seller that it is suitable for alum wire, which is 1/4 price of copper and bends easier in the box.Worked out fine in the end.

I used this to create an umbilical connections between my 3000 watt inverter and my travel trailer input. The reason I wired it this way is that I will never have a situation where I accidently have shore power and the inverter running at the same time since they both plug into the same plug on the side of the trailer.Overall the box is sturdy and has stayed waterproof but here are some things I did to make sure it lasts a long time.1. I treated all the plastic with 303 protectant (you can use Armor All or whatever). Because the box is exposed to direct sunlight and weather, the protectant will help it from getting all crumbly over it's life.2. I was able to fit a series of 8 gauge wires up into it and seal it tight with some silicone. It has remained completely water right without so much as a drop getting by.3. I used silicone and rubber at the mounting points to make sure it stays sealed and strong when plugging things in and out. You don't want to put a lot of lateral movement on the box when plugging something in if it's not supported or you're likely to crack it.I hope this helped!

This feels rather nice, it installed quickly if you follow the instructions and pop out the back with a hole saw. Code requires 6+ inches left, which makes it a bit of an art form to get 6awg crammed in the box. But it's doable if you apply a little thought.Important notes.1) pay attention to the rating, this box is RATED 50A, which means it shouldn't have a sustained above 40A to be safe.2) 8awg is not safe to run in this. THWN 8awg, under ideal situations, it's going to max at 40A. This box should have a 50A circuit and you MUST use 6awg3) trim back only about a quarter of an inch. if there is ANY copper showing you risk arcing and fires4) torque it 3 times when you're landing. don't use a philips, use a square driver for the torque. tighten, loosen, tighten, loosen, tighten. An impact driver makes this a bit easier. Check torque spec and use a torque wrench if you're unsure.5) if you need more than 40A, then you need something else. you'll probably need to hardwire.Installed correctly, there shouldn't be an issue with this box. Most of the pics i see of melted boxes, it's fairly obvious they were installed incorrectly.

This is a very well designed unit and is very solid constrution as well. It looks pretty good when mounted on the side of the house as well. Even when mounted and siliconed to the side of the house you can remove four screws and still access the connects easliy. Nice job.
