4 and 1/2 Stars. I mounted it between my garage doors at our house. I used the rear connection after drilling through the brick. I took the extra step of using both weatherstripping and caulk on the backside to ensure that water doesn't infiltrate the inside of the box. It gives you options of hole sizes and direction of connection. I used 8/3 w/ ground NM-B, Multi-strand Copper Cable Wire (Romex) for 40-amps capacity. It's what I had on hand, but 6/3 will give the full 50-amps rated capacity if you need it. It fully protects the RV plug and can be locked with a padlock when closed. Since 6/3 or 8/3 are still stiff and bulky the added space behind the receptacle panel is necessary. But it's profile definitely stands out while mounted on my wall. The manufacturer recommends mounting at least two feet high to protect from ground water and snow, but that places it closer to eye level. Why not 5 Stars Rating? My only negative was that the two small phillips screws inside the box which secures the outlet panel in place, are too flimsy. The size is small, hard to handle and the phillips star grooves immediately started to round out as I unscrewed them. They also needed to be longer, because the stiff, larger gauge wires don't fold easily, and the screws must be used to draw the panel tight. Take care to use the exact size bit and plenty of pressure to keep the screwdriver tight to avoid rounding out. I would recommend hand tightening and not use a power screwdriver to avoid round out. Two larger screws would be easier to handle and less likely to round out or strip threads. As for actual use, I will have to wait until I bring my motorhome out of winter storage.I would buy this again and can recommend it to others. But after installing the box, my recommendation to the manufacturer, is they need to upgrade the two inner screws.

Heavy duty 50 amp, well made sturdy outdoor plug. Should last for many years. Instructions in the box. Nice unit for good price. Functions great. Plenty of room for large plug head.

This is a thick metal, lockable box. I bought it for the outlet to feed the house from the generator during power outages. Easy to follow directions for the brave do it yourselfer, you may want to have an electrician do the install, depending on local codes.

The 30 amp RV Power Outlet Box was priced well and adequate for the application. I would purchase again if needed. HOWEVER: Other reviews indicate the knock-out blanks were difficult to Knock-out. This is true, as I’ve been an electrician for 51 years and this was one of, if not THE MOST, DIFFICULT knock-out blank to remove without destroying the integrity of the remaining knock-out rings. I temporarily removed the weather-tite top cap and used a short piece of 1†PVC electrical conduit to stabilize the outer knock-out ring (from inside the box) while removing the desired center ring. (See attached picture) Also, as others have commented, the supplied Green Ground wire was short, but using a Feed-through Ground Wire Nut, eased the difficulty of installation in this small, narrow, deep enclosure. (Again, See Picture) Also, I doubled the solid copper wires over under the receptacle screws to maintain proper contact between wires and screw contacts.

Ordered to mount on the side of our cabin so we can plug in the RV when needed. Very easy to wire and great quality. Received it in 24 hours which was perfect to beat the incoming snow storm.

Spacious design. You can actually close the lid with the giant plug inserted. This of course allows you to stay plugged in without the worry of rain water affecting the functionality and shorting out. They are a bit bulky, but considering the size of the plug that it requires I personally can overlook that. Being an electrician I appreciate the fact that there is ample room to work in. Definitely recommend these. Nice sturdy construction that should last for years. And you can replace the outlet inside if it ever goes bad verses replacing the whole box enclosure.

Shop around, in many cases you can find a better deal on-line, than the store. Works great, sturdy and well made. Only gripe is the connections HAVE TO BE FROM THE BOTTOM, they are not from the rear, so expect that hiccup when you see it. Had to run the wires down and make a j hook at the end, since my wires were coming in from the top. The cover is extra large, for those that have those RV connection cables with the four finger grip handle, this works well for that, lots of space. This is installed inside, so no comment on weather proof, weather resistant, or bug resistant.

I was very impressed when this 30 amp outlet/enclosure arrived. It is heavy and well built. Prior to this I peiced together a similar setup at home depot, but there really is no comparison. The pieces from Home Depot cost considerably more than this Welluck unit and don't come close to the quality.

There was nothing to it. Simply set it at the required height ( 3 feet above ground) mark the holes at the back with a marker. Then add caulking to your marks, set the box over the marks again. Screw in place, connect the wires. Than reattach the face plate and you're done! Great for rv's or charging your electric car at home!!
