Installed in a 1981 camaro with a 2001 Tahoe engine. Can’t speak on longevity, it’s definitely less robust than the original starter. But it’s a weekend cruiser. Can’t comment if it’ll actually last. But the few quick short drives, and it’s next to full length headers without a shield, and hasn’t changed in performance. $55 compared to $190 for a factory starter. I like it for my situation.

Bought the unit. It was nicely boxed, and everything looked good. Unit would turn over the engine and seemed to work as expected. After a short while, under 3 months, the unit would spin, but didn't engage flywheel or continue to engage for starting purposes. These are not super hard to change out, but they require a significant effort to do so. Going back to AC Gold, price is not worth the work to swap out.

For the price you cannot go wrong. 23 year old oem starter wore down. The vehicle starts like a champ with this one. New life and appeared to be brand new, not a reman!

Just installed on Chev Silverado 2001 5.3L Nov 24, 2024 (Ontario, Canada). No issues on installation, and fits as designed. Quick delivery, ordered on Nov 20, 2024, 6:23 p.m, delivered to my doorstep at Nov 23, 2024 at 2:30 pm. So far, works as expected.
