The filter fit my MS291 with no problems, but the filter membrane is just not as thick as the OEM Stihl filter that came on my chainsaw. I expect it to work well, but I have doubts about durability.

I see this filter as an equivalent replacement for the OEM part, at a significantly lower price. It, in combination with a new, high quality, spark plug restored my Stihl 251 to its original power level and ease of starting.

The rubber is brittle on these causing big cracks that allow a significant amount of dust and debris into the carburetor. (July 2024). I thought that maybe the first one was defective and put the other filter on after cleaning the carburetor….. same issue. I’d recommend just getting Stihl brand filters. I live about an hour away from a store that has Stihl products so I order these……. Big mistake on my part. I do not recommend. Stihl MS391
