Your cart is empty.This Surge Guard model is a basic automatic transfer switch. It is generator dominant and transfers to generator power automatically when energized after 30 second delay. Once the generator is shut down, shore power activates after a 3-4 second delay.

It does take about 45 seconds to switch from shoreline to internal generator, so be patient. This does allow one minute for the generator to warm up. It seems immediate when it changes back to shore power when you turn off generator. There is a click when generator take over, so do not think it is broken or damage, that is normal. I cannot believe I waited year before installing this. I will never own another RV without installing one of these.

It was a little larger than the previous box that I was replacing, but I fit it in with a few modifications to the rest of the electrical bay. No complaints and it is still working after a couple of months.

the device works well- the only thing i did not like was the plastic case. I would have happily paid another five bucks for metal!

Wish it had any instructions but it doesn’t. I guess you probably shouldn’t be installing it if you don’t really know what you’re doing though. Still, it’s nice to see something that tells you you’re right without having to hunt it down on the web. When activates you can hear the loud ca-chunk where it kicks over to land power or generator… not a problem just an observation. Seems good quality and it’s working as intended

I did call and asked, there is nothing that can be done about the buzzing noise. I assume the relays are the lowest cost relays the manufacture can get. But, you know that cost is important to me too.

This transfer switch worked perfectly as a replacement for the OEM equipment on my 1995 Allegro M-34 bus.

has worked well for a full season, be aware it does use power at all times to activated the switching coils. (when you are running on the inverter, it will draw some power whether you are using power or not.)this is really meant for switching shore-power and generator, if you want auto switching for an inverter that does not draw any power, you cannot use this unit, worked flawlessly otherwise.

This product is terrible do not purchase. We bought this in February 2021 and had it installed from our mechanic. Today September 2021 we found out it is broken (does not work it died). We almost missed our family trip. We lucked out and a local RV place had the part. Do Not Buy!!!
