So far so good. The chips arent defective, the input 0 must go to ground and 1 must go to power. If they are left floating it will act as an antenna, creating enough of a signal to activate the logic gate. I didnt know that and thought the circuits were defective, but its just me being silly

In general, I like the kits and the distributions. As a newbie, I don't always have the components I need and don't always have efficient ways to test all the components within the 30-day window.This 40-pc kit has had 2 defective ICs, the first two gates on an inverter had me scratching my head most recently and I'm now wondering if side effects on a couple of my earlier projects also had IC defects (I thought I had just gotten it wrong moved on).Test them.

I bought this to replace some logic chips in a retro computer for testing purposes.The replacement chips in this kit were actually worse than the ones in my computer. That makes this whole kit untrustworthy and useless for testing or development.

These parts are Chinese-made knockoffs of questionable quality. The labeling is not silkscreened as one of the pictures exclaims. It is very lightly etched and is not clear at all.
