These are very solidly built latches made from thick stainless steel. They close with a satisfying snap, far superior to the junky latches from Home Depot and the like (a different design, stamped from thin steel, and which barely work at all).The adjustment feature is a mixed bag. The plus (and it's a big plus) is it allows you to fine tune the tension when shut - other types of latch require precise installation and even then usually end up too loose or too tight, with no clean way to rectify it. Not a problem with these latches. The downside is, when open there's nothing to prevent the adjustment from changing, and it happens very easily. The bail thingy can easily spin, changing the adjustment. This isn't a disaster (easy to re-adjust) but it reduces the utility of these latches if you're constantly concerned about the adjustment changing on you every time you open them.They should have included some provision to lock the adjustment, maybe a locknut to secure the setting, but they did not. You can add your own nut (it's an M5 thread) but the nut bears against a curved surface so it works but looks a bit tacky. Or you can add a drop of loctite to secure it,Other than that these are excellent latches, highly recommended once you figure out how to secure the adjustment.

These are well-built, solid stainless latches. I used one for latching an outside tool chest to keep weather out. The only problem is that one side of the latch is threaded and adjustable for a perfect fit, and it tends to rotate every time you open it, which changes the tension on the latch. Annoying. Once I had the latch adjusted correctly I put a drop of light-hold Loctite on the threaded part to keep the correct adjustment. Not really a problem to fix and not worth a star downgrade.

I needed something to replace the failing latches on the old suitcase that I keep my guitar pedal board in. These worked perfectly! A cinch to install, and it doesn't have to be perfect either because you can tighten or loosen the latch. I chose these for the included screws and adjustability and am very pleased. Screws were a bit long for my needs (about 3/4") for thin plastic, but I just clipped them. (I got the smaller of the two available sizes.) New life to an old repurposed suitcase! And I don't mind the weird steampunk look either!
