I LOVE this dip pen! It comes with ten replacement nibs, which I somehow glazed over while reading the description, and while there is not a variety of sizes (they're all the same I think) the nibs are high quality and make cleaning the pen much easier. It's thicker than a standard dip pen and has a nice grip so it's more comfortable to hold than the traditional plastic kind. The biggest downfalls are the fact that if you dip your whole pen into your inkwell like I do, you have to frequently clean the pen shaft to keep it from becoming stained, and it cannot be used for smaller nib types. Overall a very nice product!

Love this kit. Better than buying each item individually! The non slips in the holder with ease. Gotta love Japanese design and engineering! Smooth holder with a nice blue grabbing section. The nibs are awesome. Just make sure to clean and prep the nib before inking. Lots of fun!!

It's so cute I don't know why I haven't gotten one of these before. It writes surprisingly well and is easy to figure out. It comes with a ton of replacement nibs, which is great. However, I don't think I'll be going through nibs very quickly as they're very easy to clean and reuse. It's a durable little set and I would recommend this to anyone interested in various inking styles or has an artist friend who complains about crappy pens.Just as a reminder, this set doesn't come with ink. It's a dipping pen so you need a tub of ink.

The Tachikawa pen set contains a nib holder and 10 G nibs. The nibs are Zebra G nibs listed on the box for Manga (I used Google's translator for Japanese text.) The handle has a round socket, not the usual flower-shaped socket but a circular area where you slip the nib into a space. Holds the nib well.The handle is wood, polished and varnished and there is a rubberized grip. A cap is included to protect the nib.When first using the nibs, dip them in boiling hot water to remove a waxy coating that resists ink. You'll get smooth lines.I found this pen holder easy to use compared to the inexpensive solid plastic type.

This is a amazing dip pen for in, it gives a good variety of thin lines without it making it too difficult to use, for me anyway. the pen itself feels very comfortable in the hand, and I love the amount of nibs they give increase one breaks or something like that

The grip and shape are great, super comfortable and easy to hold. The nibs are also pretty nice and sturdy. I feel like I got a good deal.

Bought this in the middle of lockdown primarily to draw fine lines in watercolor paintings. A very nice dip pen that comes with a bunch of nibs. Handle is well made and comfortable to hold. With some practice you will easily learn to go from fine lines to broader lines. Calligraphers will really enjoy this. I never had an ink dropping or blotting whilst working with this. I also use this as my signing pen at work. Highly recommended.

I've been practicing calligraphy for about a year now and these are my favorite nibs and holder! I find these nibs do not "grab" the paper on upstrokes like others do, which results in splashing ink onto the paper. It defines the difference between up and down strokes nicely and is my go to when doing cards and envelopes. The holder is comfortable in my hand and I like how easy it is when inserting and removing the nibs for cleaning. The fast shipping was greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Pour une fois, je peux écrire en professionnel ! Depuis près de 35 ans, je dessine avec un porte plume Bic Atome avec des plumes Conté... cela reste du bon matériel, que je possède encore, mais le porte plume Tachikawa et le plumes Zebra... c'est la rolls du matériel pour l'encre !!! C'est le matériel de 90% des mangaka et c'est, à l'usage, incomparable ! Le porte plume est ergonomique, les plumes faciles à changer dessus, idéal en main, la gomme caoutchouc évite que le porte plume glisse et le plumes s'encrassent peu. Il y a même un petit capuchon... C'est le top du top !!
