I bought this charcoal for my backyard barbecue party and I was very impressed by the quality and performance of this product. The charcoal is made from 100% natural hardwood, so I was very happy with no fillers, chemicals, or additives. It burns hotter, longer, and cleaner than regular charcoal, gave my food a delicious flavor with long steady heat. The charcoal is also easy to light and produces less ash, making the cleanup easier (made party closure so easy :)). Not sure why there is a foul odor on these but definitely some chemicals here. Charblox and Thaan do not have a smell
