I had this at my last house and when my basement started flooding, it let me know instantly. I could hear it on the second floor. It looks like it's from the 1980s, but it simple and works. I won't buy a Chinese WiFi one that connects to my home network - I'm not an idiot.

This water alarm has small standoff features, so you can place it in metal pans and on a bathroom floors without false alarms due to freshly washed floors or fog/moisture after taking a shower. Installing a battery (not included) requires a screwdriver, but the battery compartment is waterproof and the alarm will continue to sound even when fully immersed. The alarm is very loud, piercing sound similar to a smoke detector, and will sound for as long as there is water. The moment you clear water, the alarm silences. There is no delay, the alarm triggers as soon as there is water. I think the "360" means you can place it in any direction, so there is no issue that someone tips it over - still works in any position. There is no "ON" switch, it works as soon as you install the battery. Cool design and unlike anything else out there.

i thot something was wrong; this 4 contact alarm is not nearly as loud as my old 2 contact alarm. Too late to return it; but i see a review where a guy soldered wires to the contacts; and it works. So the thing about that was; it's lying down (not standing up). So i tried it; lying down; now it's really loud; like the old model. so a design flaw; i guess; if only 2 contacts are in water, it's weak; all 4 and it's loud. Maybe it says that in the instructions but who reads those. Note: the guy in the demo video; that alarm should be way louder.

Works well in a more compact design that is water proof. I use these as an alarm when filling Aquariums and they help this old man remember to turn off the water before the tank overflows. They also are great placed under an Air Conditioner unit to warn you if the condensation is overflowing on the floor/ceiling.

It,s small and weighted. After 2 floods in air condensation trap this will work. No I did not test. However, many reviews said it was extremely loud and our space is between the closest and restroom. The price is great.

Great piece of mind to have just in case of water leakage from water tanks, refrigerators or under sinks. So easy to install. Place 9 volt battery in it and place i t in the area of the item. Gives off a loud beep if water is detected.

My plumber recommended the device. It's placed under my dishwasher. When I need to replace my dishwasher, I'll use a rubber mat to catch any leaks and use the Wath Dog as well.
