I thought I wasn't going to like this book because it wasn't number one on the shelf but after reading it and going through it for the past few months it's really fun, easy, and I like the songs! You get to learn about composers as you go through the book and I find it really easy to play and read! I 100% recommend this book over other books just because of it's teaching method and easy explanations.

I used this system as an adult violin student and now that I have accidentally acquired a student of my own, I am pleased to know that it is still in print and it is an excellent tool for teaching would-be vilinists.

I am a beginner violinist.I have to say, I do not understand at all why this book and other books like it are called "Method" books.With that description one should expect an actual method to the training. However, the "method" is simply a progression of "songs". You start with the simple songs and progress to more and more complex songs - really series of notes more than proper songs.Do not expect instructional information. It is a book of exercises in musical notation.
