About this item

  • WHILE THE USUAL winter faucet covers, fabric faucet socks, and the manual drip method can protect an outdoor faucet IF temperatures don’t drop too low, they often don’t provide enough protection to prevent pipes and faucets from freezing. Blue Penguin’s Freeze Miser PREVENTS FREEZING FROM EVER HAPPENING, no matter how cold the temperatures or for how long - made of sturdy BRASS, STAINLESS STEEL and COLD IMPACT RESISTANT POLYPROPYLENE..Simply put, it’s the solution that you can ACTUALLY count on!
  • BUT HOW DOES IT WORK? Unlike the MANUAL DRIP METHOD that requires a CONSTANT RATE of WATER DRIPPING, the engineering of the Freeze Miser releases ONLY the minimal amount of water to PREVENT your faucet from freezing. Its patented design allows it to sense the internal water temperature, ALLOWING NO WATER to drip until the water temperature drops below 37°F/3°C...and that means BETTER FAUCET FREEZE PROTECTION using the least amount of water.
  • SUPER EASY TO INSTALL - Faucet protection in just 2 SIMPLE STEPS: Hand-tighten the Freeze Miser on your exterior faucet. Open faucet all the way to ensure that water pressure is available to the Freeze Miser (Minimum 10 PSI). And that’s it – YOUR FAUCET IS PROTECTED FROM FREEZING!
  • OUR PROMISE TO YOU - We stand behind the quality of your Freeze Miser with our 2-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY, and we hope you’re happy with the product. Warrantied against all defects in materials or craftsmanship - Your Freeze Miser is proudly engineered, developed, tested, manufactured, and packaged RIGHT HERE IN THE USA!
  • AT BLUE PENGUIN, OUR MISSION is to MAKE FREEZE PREVENTION more DEPENDABLE, AFFORDABLE, and WATER CONSERVATION a reality. We dedicated over 6 YEARS to developing, engineering, and testing to deliver a faucet freeze protector that TRULY WORKS. We back your Freeze Miser with 17+ YEARS EXPERIENCE in manufacturing proprietary temperature-activated, ice-prevention valves currently used in the cattle and dairy industry.

Want BETTER, MORE EFFECTIVE Freeze Protection Technology – That Conserves Water?
Until now, you’ve relied on subpar solutions to keep outdoor faucets from freezing – fabric faucet socks, Styrofoam faucet covers, plastic covers, and the manual drip method. While these methods CAN keep faucets protected (if the temperature doesn’t drop too low), they often don’t provide enough protection to prevent pipes and faucets from freezing. At Blue Penguin, we dedicated 6 years of development, engineering, and testing to create the Freeze Miser, a freeze-proof outdoor faucet cover that’s miles ahead of those old, outdated models.
HOW IT WORKS While the manual “constant drip” requires a constant rate of water to dripping, the engineering of the Freeze Miser releases only the necessary amount of water to prevent your faucet from freezing. Its patented design allows it to sense the internal water temperature, allowing no water to drip until the water temperature drops below 37°F/3°C...and that means better faucet freeze protection using the least amount of water. Unlike the average spigot cover that merely insulates your faucet to slow down the freezing process, the Freeze Miser prevents freezing entirely, meaning better protection for your spigot and pipes.
OUR MISSION At Blue Penguin, we make freeze prevention more dependable, affordable, and water conservation a reality. We dedicated over 6 years to developing, engineering, and testing to deliver a faucet freeze protector that truly works. The Freeze Miser is also backed by 17+ years of experience manufacturing proprietary temperature-activated, ice-prevention valves currently used being in the cattle and dairy industry. Our products are proudly tested, manufactured, and packaged right here in the USA.

I put them on all four of my outside fausets on my home and shop building. They have prevented all of the fausets from freezing. Works and so simple to use. Just screw it on the fauset and turn the fauset on and forget it. No freezing no matter how cold it gets.

Purchased 4 just before the polar vortex hit the Florida Panhandle 1/21/25. All performed flawlessly as overnight temps were down to 18 deg F for three straight days. For two consecutive 24hr periods the temps didn’t get above 29 deg F. Well made, quality product.

Oh my goodness! Game changer for freezing weather. I live on the coast in texas and snow days are few are far between. I also live in the country - water wells- barns etc. I also have a pool that needs to stay on during freezing weather or there will be issues- the freeze miser - perfect- put on your outdoor faucets- turn water all way on - leave and forget! No dripping of faucets- no worries if pool pipes get frozen- because they won’t. Weather was in the “teens” for about 4 days- (coastal Texas isn’t built for that) and I had no worries. Everybody should have them on every outdoor faucet and spares just in case. Winter life changer!

Worked well during the last hard freeze. One of the freeze mizers did seem to release a lot of water.

I use the freeze miser in NW Louisiana. I have two outside faucets at the house, an outside sink, and four pasture water lines that serve water troughs for the cows. Every line has a freeze miser. Last winter, they all worked like a champ, dripping at about 34 degrees and dripping more as the temperature dropped. I reinstalled them this year, and they all worked when we had our first hard freeze this week. The freeze miser is incredibly easy to install - just hand screw it onto the faucet and turn the faucet on.The only issue is that you cannot use the faucet with the freeze miser in place. For me, this is only an issue on the cow troughs where the faucet connects to an automatic water valve that adds water when the trough runs low. So, I added a second faucet. The top one serves the trough. The second is below the trough and has the freeze miser attached. Our temperatures got as low as 10 degrees last year, and this arrangement worked well. The water was still available for the trough and the freeze miser below still dripped.Interestingly, my water comes from a well. With 7 freeze misers dripping, I still don't notice a reduction in water pressure inside the house.

(1) I tested four of them out last winter and they work great using very little water because they only start dripping when the air/ faucet body/ water temperature has cooled down to the set point (near freezing). Using the old method of allowing the faucet to drip uses lots of water if on for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And yes, if you are perfect you can use the method of going out to start/stop the dripping only on freezing days/nights which does reduce the water use, but not as much as Freeze Miser.(2) If Freeze Miser fails, it fails safe (always drip), and they are easy to test per provided instructions.(3) In cold weather (below set point) the Freeze Miser may turn off (or slow down) for short periods of time because as the water drips, it is replaced by the warmer water from the house/ground supply, but will start up again as Freeze Miser cools off.
