I'm a professional violist and was looking for a little quicker response on my C in forte without losing depth or power. These strings are absolutely incredible. I switched the C first to test it and I thought "OMG I could play Tzigane on this", which believe me had never crossed my viola mind before!The best strings previously were Dominant Pros, followed by Vision Solo, for reference. If your viola responds well to those you should absolutely give these a try!

These strings have a very deep, wide sound. The sound under my ear is very pleasant and I've received many compliments so far. They are expensive but totally worth it. These are better than Vision solos in that they are a bit lower tension and I feel like there's more give to the string. I can pull the bow a bit deeper than the other strings I've tried. These blend very well in an orchestra viola section even when playing (I think) excessively loud. They respond very well to fast and light bowing, and exceptionally well for slow and heavy near the bridge- doesn't crack at all.I hate the A string. Like all thomastik string sets, the A is a waste. Get a good Larsen or jargar on there.Note I also tried them with the Wmute and they have a great color!
