Won’t blow inside out with the higher amount of spikes. The handle is a bit small, like you can’t easily hang it over any part of your arm but your wrist, but it’s very cute, and lightweight

This umbrella has a great solid feel with its metal shaft and smooth auto-open. Closure band is with a snap instead of the increasingly-common velcro, so more secure and durable. I like knowing the end is metal in case I need to wield it in self-defense. 😃 And the bamboo handle is such a nice cool feature - just makes it feel fancy. I love it, and I'm buying a backup for when I inevitably lose it.

The fabric is quite waterproof and the ribs are well-made. The lavender color is pleasant and probably suitable for men or women.The main shaft is quite flimsy... you definitely cannot lean on the closed umbrella as a walking stick (which is fine), but even a slight breeze makes the staff bend (which is not fine). I'm not sure it will survive heavy wind without breaking.The bamboo handle is severely cracked and damaged. It looks like it suffered from extreme drying, almost like severely chapped and cracked lips on the "outer bend" part of the curved handle... it probably happened during the process of bending the bamboo to shape. The bamboo handle also does not seem to firmly attached to the shaft.

I haven't used it yet because we ran out of sun here in the PNW. It's very sturdy, though, looks great, and I love the extra ribs because it looks like a proper parasol, not an umbrella. But from what I've read, it also works as an umbrella, which might come in handy. Despite all of the rain we get, Washingtonians don't often use umbrellas unless it's absolutely pouring and we forgot to be sensible and bring a coat with a hood.

I first saw this umbrella in the show MURDER IN A SMALL TOWN filmed in BC. As soon as I saw it, I did a reverse GOOGLE search and found it was sold by Amazon. I immediately looked it up and then put it in my wish list. When I received a gift card for Amazon at Christmas, it was the first purchase I made with the gift card. It just arrived and it is as perfect and beautiful as it looked in the show. I love it and it is a great size. Feels well made and has a lovely bamboo handle. No wonder the female protagonist used it in the series as it stands out on gloomy rainy days as a little ray of sunshine. 5/5 Stars for me!
