For those wanting a better grip on their Leica D-Lux 8, this thumb grip is ideal. It fits perfectly and does not block the function buttons on the back of the camera. Really helps with the ergonomics of the camera which can feel small in your hands.

I am always a stickler for the added grip that a thump grip can offer for a smaller camera and I am extremely pleased with this one. I really like that it has rubberized padding on the bottom to protect the hotshoe contacts, and it does ot obstruct use of any of the buttons. I also very much appreciate the finish, as it perfectly matches the finish of the camera itself. If it were not for the JJC logo, you would not be able to tell it was not an OEM product.

I was surprised by how much I liked this thumb grip. I’m usually a snob to Match Technical brand, but since they don’t make a specific model for the D-Lux 8, I decided to give this one a try. It really impressed me with fit and finish, and the overall design of how your thumb rests on the grip and still has access to the nearby function buttons.

This thumb grip is well-made and fits the Leica D-LUX8 nicely, giving a more comfortable hold when shooting. The aluminum alloy construction feels solid, and it doesn’t interfere with any of the camera’s buttons or dials. However, given the steep price, it’s hard not to feel that it’s an expensive add-on for something that primarily improves handling. It’s a quality piece, but for the cost, I expected a bit more—perhaps additional features or even a slightly more refined design. Good for those who need the extra grip, but the value might be hard to justify for everyone.
