  • TENNESSEE SMALL BUSINESS: we're a small team specializing in high quality percussion instruments and mallets using the best materials possible; our wood shop is in Nashville, Tennessee, and your choice supports American jobs
  • WHY IT MATTERS: we don't just simply "source" products from overseas factories and put our logo on it; controlling design and production in-house lets us focus on first-class construction to make professional, highly intentional, long-lasting instruments
  • EXTRA HARD RUBBER MALLETS: the Timber Drum Co. Extra Hard Rubber Mallets are one step down in firmness/density from our Hard Poly mallets to give you bright definition with a slightly softer give that you'd expect from rubber
  • WHERE TO USE: made for xylophone, wood block, log drum, temple blocks, metallophone or other special effects
  • ONE BIG THING: please check our other mallets for uses where you need a sharper attack like glockenspiel, bells, or energy chimes; the Timber Drum Co. T2HP Hard Poly or TB3M Brass mallets are best suited for these purposes
  • SOLID BIRCH HANDLES: smooth and well-balanced with rounded tips for comfort; the wood is hand-stained in our shop to bring out the natural grain for a high-end look
  • SPECS: 15.25" L (total), 1" mallet heads, 5/16" diameter handles; sold in pairs
  • THE TAKEAWAY: buying these mallets supports an American company and Tennessee workers, and they deliver a bright, resonant tone with a sharper attack than our softer rubber mallets; great for all ages and skill levels

I purchased the extra soft mallets to play on my April Yang & Burnin & Lin 432 HZ 15 note steel tank drums in D Major. Boy, was I ever impressed with how it brought out the high notes of 1,2, & 3 making them sound stronger on my B & L drum. It made the notes on my April Yang drum sound so smooth.A good pair of mallets is essential to produce the pure sound on these drums. I had no idea of what I was missing until receiving these mallets. The only con is that they were a little long for my liking as I am very short so I will have to get used to handling them.Thank you.

I'm using them for several different instruments. Great length, easy to use with a wooden tongue drum or any drum really.

Love the delicacy of the sound with these onmy steel tongue drum. Better than with original ones that came with the drum.

I purchased the soft rubber mallets to reduce the strike noise while playing the tung drum. These mallets do reduce that noise though not completely
