Simple Installation.
Remove the stock fuel cap by loosing the OEM bolts and pulling the tether from the filler housing. Then replace it with the u-Box aluminum one by inserting in and screwing the supplied bolts. It’s that easy. It should only take about 30 minutes or less to get it done.

Fits my 98TJ perfectly. This is one complete unit that snaps right in (listen for click). Time from removal of old housing to new install completion: less than 15 minutes. Looks great. I would buy again.

2005 Rubicon easy to install fit good and feels sturdy. Hole for gas cap tether same size as factory. I got an after market cap non locking, and tether is smaller but was able to push a #10 washer on back, worked fine.

Looks great out of the box, but it's made out of plastic with a metal door. Not as sturdy as I wanted, but it looks good on the jeep. Install was actually WAY easier than the instructions say. On my 97 TJ, all I had to do was undo the 4 screw around the filler neck, and swap old for new. After you attach the filler neck it just snaps into place with 3 little plastic tabs. Be careful, though, I broke one off during the installation and had to drive a self tapping screw in to shore it up. The Allen head screws around the outer ring are just there for show. Would be better if it actually screwed or bolted to the body in my opinion, but over all I'm pleased with it.

i got this about 3 weeks ago, not only was installation a pain in the *** (been working on aircraft, motorcycles and cars for over 15 years, never taken anything to a mechanic)but today i stopped to fill my jeep up. i unlocked the fuel door and the second i opened it up it fell apart and fell to the ground. looking at the hinge its cheap granulated metal. just got the jeep a week prior to this door and the jeep has yet to even see dirt. no damage done to the door or the housing so i seriously doubt anyone messed with it. just simply very cheaply made "u-box" will never get a penny from me again!
