Work well for intended purpose. Used to control power to a new copper AC power line. Old connection was aluminum wire. Old switch circuit is now low power control circuit with main power switched through parallel relays (for redundancy). 2 relays ft in standard round light / outlet box..

A relay takes a small signal into a coil to magnetically pull in a high power contact. This can effectively multiply the power of the original signal, control a higher voltage, and/or provide isolation between input and output. It is important to get the coil operating voltage right, and to live within the current/power limits of the contacts.In this product, the included wires may seem confusing, since all 3 black ones look alike but are not. Only 2 of the black wires are large, and have the large connectors which fit the higher power connections to the relay contact. The red and other black wires are smaller, having the smaller connectors which fit the lower power connections to the relay coil.

The wiring matched up and performance has so far been way better than the one that burnt up and needed to be replaced. Size matched up just as it said it would. *TIP Make sure your coil voltage and amperage match up the old relay you are replacing!

I haven't seen anything wrong with the relays other than the description saying 40 amp and 30 amp printed on them. The problem is the wires they send are an 18 gauge with large spade connectors. That's an ok wire size for the coil side, but the connectors are too big to properly fit. On the contactor side the connectors are a good size but if you would put 30 or worse 40amp through an 18 gauge wire be ready for that wire to look like a heating element glowing red for a few seconds till it burns out. Get your own connectors and wire and this relay should be good enough.
