This toaster is not anything fancy which is what I wanted. I wanted something to toast bagels, and toast and be a 2 slot wide enough to accommodate. It’s perfect for that, and the price is good.

The color was black which is what I ordered so yay! The first time toasting made me a little nervous because of the “burning†smell, but the timer was on point and the toast quality was exactly what I wanted. Beautifully light brown toast.

Ok, it does actually toast, but it has retrained me to lower my expectations. Other toasters made life easy--put bread in toaster, select desired level of toasting, push button. Up they pop, evenly toasted on both sides -- breakfast. This machine, while all elements are actually on, toasts unevenly. Meaning that in order to get a uniform toastiness on both sides, (after some fun experimentation) found the setting to get one side nicely but not quite done, when it pops, reverse the half toasted bread, and depress again.Voila, when it pops, perfectly toasty toast on both sides. And really, what was I going to do with an extra couple of minutes each morning? Sleep in? Floss twice? have an extra cup of coffee? No idea, and now we will never know. At least until I get a better toaster.
