This is my first time dealing with leather, but I certainly did a good job of buying a top quality strip. The color was perfectly uniform, and the entire length had no blemishes. It was thicker than any belt I ever had. I used it to create 2 handles for a box. I tested the pull strength, and it easily exceeded 80 pounds of force for this 1" strip and it held up well. This is much more than the box carries.... at about 20 pounds, and this is distributed between 2 handles, which is 4 attachment points.Yes, you can attach leather to wood. You must predrill the wood holes and punch holes in the leather, but it works. It's a bit of work to line the holes up well enough, but the holding strength is very good. You should tape the wood on both sides to prevent tear out of fiber, but if any tear out, then you can just tap them back down with a hammer or flathead screwdriver.

Great quality leather, used it for the strap on a purse I hand made for my wife.

The 1/16 strip is just as wide as the 1/8 strip I purchased. This won’t work for what I had intended to use it for and I’ll be looking into another option. I can still use this for something else but beware if you are looking for a true 1/16 product.

Nice and thick heavy leather strap. I made a belt from it. It is strong enough for whatever your leather needs might be
