Simple Wire Connection
Just connect the retro-reflective photocell to the gate opener system. Please refer to the corresponding TOPENS gate opener user manual for the correct wire connection.
The cable (size: 4C x 22 AWG) for connecting the photocell to the gate operator system is required but NOT included.
Generally, the distance between the sensor and the control board of the gate opener should be within 33 feet (10m).
It is suggested to mount the photocell at least 8” (20cm) above the ground.

Easy DIY Installation
Power on to determine the reflector position. Fix the reflector position when the photocell status LED is green.
Ensure that there is no obstruction between the photocell and the reflector during alignment.
One TRF3 photocell sensor can only work for one gate operator, while one gate operator can connect two TRF3 security sensors at most.

Ordered the reflector because I originally installed the RK1100T with a different reflector. They didn't work well in the sun. Got the TRF# and it works great! Easy to Install as well

Well this stupid TRF3 safety reflective hate opener when wired up as pert topensanuals works the wrong way round with beam aligned won't open or close break the beam & it will let you open & close. Burnt out my gates main board. Gate wouldn't stop hit the stopper & burnt their board,Topens reached out to me & sent me another one free of charge. I fitted it & wired it up & it is working like it should. I have changed my rating to 5 star would give them 10 if was possible. Chelsey from Topens customer service was fantastic & delt with the issue very professionally. They certainly stand by their product & warranty I would highly recommend their products.

I purchased this sensor as a safety measure in case a person or car entered the field of view while closing. The unit works seamlessly and functions to prevent inadvertant gate closure on objects entering the swing radius of the gate while closing. I recommend aligning the transmitter/target during darkness such that you can visibly see the light beam and adjust the target.

I installed this with a Topens CK700 sliding gate opener and it works as expected. The wiring instructions weren't great but if you keep in mind it's just a SPDT switch than you could figure it out (I attached two photos of my wiring for reference). I placed the sensor on my gate post and the reflector on the other side of my driveway 15' away. It works as expected and reverse my gate as soon as anything moved across the sensor. You do have to provide your own wiring. I had a 20AWG 3 lead consolidated wire from a previous project that worked great. It's easier to set up than the cheaper two piece sensors and I consider this a safety requirement for any type of automated door.

Very convenient and helpful solution to obstacle avoidance for a sliding electronic gate! Quick to install with an eagle automated door opener. Do the alignment with the reflector in late evening or night as the beam is clearly visible. Wiring instructions from Topen that come with the product are clear, but to understand how to wire it with the gate opener, I had to connect with their tech support, who were extremely responsive and explained how to connect NO #4 output from this to reverse loop global input on the board and how to setup the pins. Tech support 5 stars here are for Eagle tech support. But overall, combined result was a very smooth, and uneventful installation that resulted in the exact functionality that was desired!

things to know, were not even mentioned in the instructions. number 1 is how to adjust the beam with the three tiny screws on the spring loaded printed wiring board, number 2 is that the spring strength varies markedly between units, number 3 is that the beam projection can be most easily seen at dusk to significantly aid in aligning the reflector disk. number 4, the description should have made clear that no wires are included which I had to pay extra for and delayed the installation. number 5, the toll free support number is worthless since you can’t directly speak to anyone, number 6, and most importantly, the design should have allowed for tuning in the beam direction AFTER the plastic lens is secured. It is a real pain to iteratively adjust the beam direction since is easily deflected off the mark during the plastic lens install.

compre estos sensores para tener todo de la marca topens pero fallan mucho cuando les da la luz del sol, en hora en el que el sol esta bajo funcionan perfectamente pero cuando esta alto se la pasan activándose y no dejan que la reja cierre.tengo dos instalaciones distintas y en las dos falla incluso compre nuevos sensores pensando que podrÃan estar defectuosos pero aun asà siguen fallando.
