this worked perfectly on my 2025 AT4X duramax 2500 HD. The other style did not fit.

i have no doubt it will do the job, i actually like this design better than the c-clamp style that's been around forever. if the weights off the suspension and threads are greased, i'd have no fear just running it with an impact. just be mindful and don't sit there with the 1/2" gun full send for 45min if it stops moving.

The seperate piece that indexes into the frame does not fit correctly on a GMC or Chevy truck. It will roll and shoot out from under the u bolts / tool! I had to go get a loaner from O'Reillys to finish the job.

UPDATE: This got the job done for me. No problems to report. Perhaps more hassle of setting it up but I like that it SEEMS safer to use. Whatever that is worth.I will finally get to try this today as I do a front end rebuild on my 2005 Silverado. I already earlier in the day was forced to accept I wouldn't be able to do it for another week or three but lo and behold this thing finally arrived, so it is GAME ON now. Finish is great. The quality looks there. But I've seen torsion bar unloaders have horror stories of threads stripping so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. This style should be so much better and I look forward to a quick update by Monday.

It's a great tool for the money, and I can say without question you will need it to install Lift Keys on a 3/4 ton GM truck.Fully lubricate the threads with some heavy duty moly grease, and do not use an impact wrench. I used a 24 inch breaker bar. You need to jack up the truck to unload the torsion bar before doing any work, even minor lift adjustments. It's a must have and for the price a fair deal.

This is a decent, pretty heavy duty tool. I initially tried a relatively small C-clamp to do this job, and it bent the c-clamp into the oblivion. Needed something heavier duty, so i grabbed this tool. This was used on a 2003 Chevy Silverado, and i used a long breaker bar instead of an impact wrench, was nervous about stripping the threads. Tools made overseas usually have that problem. But it survived without issues and got the job done. The price is not bad, i could have rented a free tool from auto parts store, but didnt want to drive back and forth, and everything worked out ok

These are great for the home mechanic to unload/load the torsion keys for doing front end work or lift keys. You really shouldn't use an impact on these. You should defiantly grease the threads for easier use. Not the greatest for commercial use, but great for home use.

Great for homeowner. I wouldn't use it in a commercial shop, but for doing the occasional job at your home backyard shop, it is perfect.
