I have tons of tripods like everybody else, I actually switched between using these for Camera and for lighting on my trip to Vegas for CES this month. My cameraman even put our full gimbal rig on this for a few minutes and it was very stable, but obviously I wouldn’t walk away from it. It’s very bottom heavy which is great seems very durable metal construction on the legs.

Everything about this item is awesome except I have some concerns about the durability. First time I opened it the bars came apart so I’m going to exchange for a functioning one and hopefully all will be great! Pretty stoked on this product otherwise, it’s super compact compared to a small tripod stand and about the same weight. Also the quality seams good otherwise. It works if you stick your finger in and pull up the bottom section so it’s not like if it broke in the field it would be unusable and it locks through out it’s height range fine.

Good buy not goodbye. When I travel my tripod is always an issue. In planes...Cruise ships...it's long and obstructive. Even folded or in two parts it's literally a pain.Having a solid unit is amazing. It's strong and constructed with quality material so it won't tip over. Other variants are too weak for a DSLR. Only caveat is you need the accessory head which is sold separately. It fits nicely on the side pouch of my backpack especially when I have to stow under the seat in front. I didn't like that my tripod could potentially hurt someone beside me or walking by me. This is a perfect solution.

Perfect heavy duty metal twist lock tripod. Much better than traditional 3 legged tripod

So I struggled with this one a bit. I really like the overall build quality and most of ulanzi products I’ve used have been really well made as well. This thing is pretty compact and can slip in and out of bags really well, in ways that compact light stands struggle due to shape and knobs sticking out. It sets up easily and despite not having a lock for the legs they actually stay where you set them really well. In fact, the bottom part of this stand is amazing. To keep weight down the telescoping shaft is all plastic. While I think it’s fairly durable the plastic does not feel premium or inspire trust for heavier loads. I wouldn’t want to use this stand for anything much bigger than a cell phone or similar sized video light. Maybe a microphone.Which is probably my biggest issue with this stand. There are much more stable stands that weigh about the same and have almost the same diameter when folded up but are all metal and can easily handle up to 10 pound loads. So I struggle to find scenarios where this stand would be better and the only one I can come up with is for cell phone videos and needing a super slim form factor due to carrying constraints.I really like the idea though and it is a quality made product for sure.
