Feels strong and well built and is comfortable in your hand. coiled wire gives maybe 3' of "comfortable" expansion without pulling the clamp off the ground lug. But this is longer than the old light I've used for years.. beep is loud in a good way, the light is bright and the voltage number is easily read. They only slight knit pick is that the light only shines to the front, not the back, so if you are in a tight space it may not be pointed to you, but the audible alarm takes care of that issue, and if you are in a tight space the front light will most likely illuminate the whole dark space. Great buy.

I hesitantly drop one star, but it is a little off at nominal 12 volts. The thing is VERY handy. Sometimes you just want to see if a battery is up, or a fuse is good, but you don't want to drag out the Fluke 87 or other advanced test gear. Shows polarity with LED's inside the handle. Those work as a go no-go test by glancing at it, or look at voltage to check for loss in a circuit under load.Has a nice heavy cord with a decent ground clip. I've had too many test lights with crap clips that pop loose right as you're about to test something. This one does not have that problem. It's pretty long too.I keep this with my daily test gear as a first grab when working on a vehicle. I need to buy one to keep in the truck in the emergency toolkit because it's perfect for that, and takes up next to no space unlike a DVM.

I purchased this to troubleshoot a snowmobile electrical problem. It works great. It is nicely made, came packaged nice and was a good value. It works as expected, and I can easily test circuits now, check voltage and even if there is draw with the light. It showed normal and reverse polarity with the two colored lights. Now I wish I had an AC version as I was testing some 24vac on a furnace solenoid this past weekend and had to get out my meter just to see if there was voltage there.Definitely would buy this again, probably a gift for my sons who are just starting to tinker.
