THIS IS NOT A WORKING PRODUCT. The thermometer pictured on the USB drive is not literal - only a sticker. Also, when plugged into a computer, nothing registers. No program, nothing. A total waste of time and money.

You can use the Windows App (from PCsensor.com) or the easy way and just use a Text Editor (like Notepad).Just hold 'Caps Lock' for 3sec on your Keyboard and it will magically start writing the Temperature output as text input.

These units (I have purchased a number of them of slightly different types) always came with a small CD with Windows software on it. Mine did not, though the plastic clamshell was sealed and there was the indentation to hold the CD, nor was there any location from which the software could be downloaded. Because I use it on linux, this was not an issue for me, but if you need the Windows software, I would consider another model.

Purchased 2 copies. They had USB ids 1a86:e025 and work with the python tool ccwienk/temper from github.Issue is that they are reporting wrong temperatures. Other one seems to be about 2.5°C off, the other up to 5°C off. (Measured against infrared laser temp gun and standard household temperature sensor.)
