Got this to use with my Motorola 9 pin serial that requires a RIB box to rear and write to the radio (Motorola XTS5000)Installation is super easy. Plugged it into my Windows 11 laptop and the drivers was automatically installed and assign a com port.The cable is well made with some good strain relief on the end of the connectors. Length wise it's longer than what I needed but that's not a cons. Haven't tested this in the older windows machine so I can't tell if it works or not but so far it works great on my Windows 11 laptop and Windows 10 desktop. So anything older than that, you might have a compatibility issues.Like I had mentioned before. It works with the Motorola programming cable without the need for a RIB box. No issues on connectivity even after I disconnect the cable and plug it in again into another USB port.

For anyone that has legacy RS-232 equipment that they still want to control with a new computer with no serial ports, this fills the bill nicely.

Hello and Blessings! I ordered this cable for work to connect to special equipment. Price was fair, but probably could have found cheaper, but not by much. Seems to be well made, I would say better quality than the old radio schack USB to RS232. However you will need to search online and download a driver. My PC could not auto install the driver. There arn't any directions or instructions on which website to use, or what drivers work. I configured my cable to my HP running on windows 10,in the moment on the job site. It was frustrating at first but the outcome went well and I was blessed to figure it out. I would recomend this product for being a well made basic cable, and would encourage the seller or maker to add an extra note to the buyer, just a thought.... All thanks and Glory be to God! Works to connect my PC to my old UPS with a serial connection. I had to use the link in the description to download the driver. My pc with windows 10 was not able to automatically install a driver, but the one I downloaded worked fine. Very happy with this device.

I needed to transfer data from an old-school serial device to my new Windows 11 computer, and this cable offered the solution. It has a serial plug on one side, and standard USB-A on the other. My Dell Laptop is standardized with USB-C, so I needed to adapt that, too, with a cable I already had. There was no driver download needed, and the data transfer worked flawlessly.There were other, more expensive options available, but why pay the price? I chose this model as it looked adequate. I'm pleased I did because I had no issues and am 100% satisfied.

Bought this to replace my old cable when they retired the driver for this. I needed it to work on a Windows 11 VM on a Mac, so it will handle the ARM architecture. Plugged it in and worked straight away. Excellent cable.
