I wanted to make an adapter to connect my Bally Astrocade (1981) game controller to my Vectrex (1981) game. These adapters looked perfect. I only used the male adapter which plugged into my Bally 9-pin hand controller. I also cut the female Sega Genesis extension cable from Amazon, stripped the 9-wires carefully and tinned all nine wires with my soldering iron. Then I simply loosened the 9 terminals on the JUXINICE adapter terminal blocks and connected the desired cable wires (color coded in the Sega extension cable) to the desired adapter block pin#. I then checked each connection with my multimeter and activated each of the Bally hand controller buttons - they all checked fine. I did have to add a thick strip of black insulation tape to the cable for a good fit with the 2nd smallest size strain relief - and then clamped the cable securely with the included metal clamp and screws. I then closed the plastic cover and have a working adapter for my Bally controller!!

I’m fine with the solder type connectors, but when I send younger people that didn’t grow up making cables with them they fail half of the time. This completely eliminated the guess work, and if they miswire something they can just fix it.

if you still work with serial interfaces, buy a hand full of them. they are very adaptable and great for trial and error. if you work with serial interfaces you know what I mean.

These are very sturdy, robust, and do the job very well. The inclusion of the several sizes of strain relief gives these a very finished look when assembled.Due to the way these are constructed to handle either having anchor screws or being screwed into means their holes are continuously threaded. As a consequence, if using with screws, they thread in and out of the holes rather than remaining loose but captive. Make sure the screws are retracted all the way before plugging in and screwing down to ensure full engagement of the connector.

Much more compact than the board based ones. Wire needs to be small.

I bought these to make radio programming cables that run anywhere from $100-300 on eBay due to scarcity. With these adapters, I was able to use standard hookup wire with pogo pins and a 3d printed connector. Because these have terminals, I could adujst what pins were used, which helped in a case where I had conflicting pin-outs. The multiple sleeve adapters are nice too, because some of what I built had as few as 3 wires inside, but others had 8. Good value overall, and the terminals are a major plus
