Didn’t need any special software to work with windows 11. It has the newer chipset in it that can work with the new windows versions

I use it to control a Ham Radio. It was flawless to install and I get to see the control lines I need to validate proper function. Overkill for some, but perfect for me.

Liked the visual signaling led feature. Used for Laptop without a DB9 port. This solved the problem.

I was having issues with my trendnet USB->Serial based on the prolific chip set on my mac. It would just stop transmitting and then it would resume much later. This one seem to work right off the bat once I installed the driver on my mac. My only compaint was the the driver came on one of those mini CDs which my external cd/dvd reader didn't want to insert it. So I went online and downloaded the driver from Gearmo.

I really like the tty line led indicators however, unlike my ancient Belkin dongle ,this one does not appear to pass the CTS signal back to host resulting in overrun. This may be specific to Linux as I have not tried it with Windows.EDIT: Updated to current Linux providing FTDI driver. rtscts flow control now works well.Summary: Very nice usb-rs232 adapter with LED status indicators.

I bought this RS232 because I need a laptop to communicate to my Singer Quantum XL-6000 Sewing/Embroidery machine and it had the 9 pin Null cable (and no USB) which I need to attach the RS232 to so I could transfer embroidery designs to my sewing/embroidery machine. The problem being they were made to communicate to Windows XP and I needed to upgrade to a laptop, so currently running it on Windows 8, now. It was easy to install with the CD disc they sent, it had the manual and instructions and all the different drivers that I would need and easy to install. So I am one Happy Camper these days. Thank You GearMo. The only thing is that, GearMo had other RS232 Adapters but on Amazon.com not Amazon.ca. They were cheaper with the same FTDI ChipSet I needed but were not available in Canada. That would be my only complaint, so I had to spend more to do the same job. It is a step up from the other Adapaters though, so if you like Flashy Lights, you're good to go!

el producto muy bueno. solo , un detalle importante.. es un producto que se ve excelente.. solo que le pueden agregar un instructivo.. sobre todo en español.. x favor ,, no es x marcas pero de verdad que es de gran ayuda,, todo viene en ingles,, y es batallar un poco mas.. he comprado de otra marca y viene pensado en todo.. un instructivo de 5 hojas,, y en varios idiomas,, ojala y mejoren, este detalle.. lo que me preocupa es que dice la publicidad que funciona para windows 10 y las instrucciones solo marca windows xp.. en fin lo probaremos, ojala y todo funcione bien..el servicio y envio de amazon excelente, es mi primera compra.. y quede muy contento con la atencion.. y servicio.. seguire comprando.. saludos--.ya les comentare si de verdad funciona.. este adpatador.. .. amigos de verdad que es una maravilla.sin duda es excelente,, se los recomiendo al 1000%.. funciona perfecto para windows10 y miren que sufri mucho para encontrarun adaptador.. compre varios sin resultados.. este es sensacionall. recuerden solo batallaran un poquito x que trae instructivo..

This is about my fourth USB-RS232 cable, give or take, and the only one that seems to actually work without question. Tested on Windows, Linux, and Android; Works great across the board. It's a tad pricey, but cheaper cables have given me nothing but headaches.
