Works perfectly with linux OS but windows ( 7 ) had boot issues that required an extra step to start that might just be specific to my system. Works exactly as described on seller listing.

This KVM worked well for me. Installation was simple - one VGA, one USB per PC. I initially had some issues with the screens not being centered on the display for two of the four attached PCs, but that seemed to sort itself out.The only issue I had was that the tiny remote-control switch did not work. It would only let me select two of the four PCs. Since I really didn't need the remote, it was OK.One request to the manufacturer: Have ALL cables, including the local console, exit from the BACK of the unit. My unit is awkwardly balanced on top of one of the 4 PCs, and the cables coming out the front are difficult to deal with.

Aug 16, 2022This is for the DGODRT-US 4 port USB KVM switch. This is a replacement for an older PS/2 2-port KVM activated via hotkeys for Windows 2000 and XP. That system worked flawlessly. I've since added 2 more computers, and purchased this switch to accommodate. My setup is unique, which may be of help for those with questions. I have this set up with 4 computers: Vista, Windows 10, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. Switching between the computers (with the wired key device - nice option!) is as follows: Vista & W10 - no issues what-so-ever. XP - Switch acts like a connect / disconnect, so sometimes it takes a few seconds to be recognized, but then works flawlessly. If I start XP first, it will not boot. It seems the KVM needs to be activated before hand, which XP will not do. I need to fire up Vista or W10 first, then switch over to XP at the start of the boot. Windows 2000 is a problem. Connecting a USB mouse and keyboard directly, without the KVM works perfectly. Using the KVM causes large mouse and keyboard delays, jumps, and lost input information. I've tried switching USB ports and switching keyboards and mice. I cannot find any solution to make these inputs work smoothly. As of now, I keep all plugs in, but have a PS/2 keyboard and mouse connected to the W2000 at all times. Video monitor has no issues with any system, unless XP doesn't boot because no devices were detected. I could plug in a PS/2 mouse and keyboard (and stash them in the back) just for bootup purposes if I wanted. Final word: An inexpensive option that works well for newer systems. For older systems, a KVM switch that has scanning may work better. This switch is a good value and easy to use if your systems are newer.Aug 23, 2022 - Followup: I finally did find an excellent solution. After trying a half dozen mice and various keyboards, I decided to try my Logitech K330 wireless keyboard and mouse. I installed these on each computer individually, then plugged the receiver into the KVM port. My results are excellent, with perfect startup and response from each. Just make sure the proper key button is pressed as soon as a computer is turned on.

I used this to set up all of my servers as well as one workstation all through the same monitor, mouse and keyboard. I like that it only needs one USB port to plug into each computer as well as one VGA port.

Amazon blocks me from contacting seller directly so a review is my only communication option. (Furthermore Amazon sends you to so many links to do anything I accidentally filed this under an item Amazon shouldn't have even permitted me to review as I had returned it because it was the wrong item when this review was intended for that item's replacement! But I digress.) I bought this to connect an hp flat screen monitor, a Gateway keypad and tried both an older and newer logitech wired (laser light not mechanical) mice to my primary Windows 10 hp and secondary Windows 7 Gateway desktop PCs (that both still use VGA monitor connectors). When using my Windows 10 the mouse repeatedly stops being connected then is reconnected and sometimes I can continue working or sometimes it ends up disconneced and I either change the SWITCH USB plug to a different USB port in the back of my PC OR rotate the 3 USB plugs (mouse/keypad/printer) on the front of the splitter/switch to different switch ports or I will use the remote to flip from PC2 then back to PC1. More often than not after flipping back and forth between not recognizing and recognizing the mouse I get a popup that says "Windows 10 does not recognize newest device" ie the SPLITTER SWITH and I have to change the switch USB in the back of the computer to a different USB port. My most recent attempt has been to replace the newer wired laser mouse with an older wired laser mouse... which lasted longer but is now starting to have the same Windows 10 suddenly not recognizing then recognizing the mouse. If I get tired of continuously having to climb under my desk to get to the back of my pc's to siwth USB ports I will next see if a wireless mouse makes any difference. Also there is NO TECH SUPPORT (no phone number or contact information in the owners manual other than telling you to replug and reboot which I have to do multiple times while typing the same paragraph). Because it doesn't work for any extended period of time I had to rate it a 1 star for Value and Overall although the ease of installation and the remote were great. I wish I could have communicated directly with the seller instead of via this review.

I bought this as a replacement for an IOGear KVM I have that only handles two computers. It works okay, but every time I switch away and back to my Windows machine I have to remove the USB plug from the computer and plug it back in because the mouse starts skipping and mouse clicks get ignored. Unplugging and replugging the cable from the computer is the recommended solution from the manufacturer. :(This did not happen with my old KVM, so I don't intend to keep it and continue unplugging and replugging the USB cord into the Windows machine every time I switch away from the computer.

Easy hookup, shared usb on mouse keyboard to device, 1 cable from switch to computer makes install simple straight forward. Switch is well marked. Having the remote button is key as often cables and switch are preferred to by behind and out of the way. Excellent I would recommend it to anyone.

It's a nice KVM switch, and it is working so farIf it continues to work, it is amazing value for money, the more known brands cost as much as 4 times for an equivalent unit, the only complain i have is about how short the cables are, it's 1.2 meter, for me it was ok, but forget putting this unit anywhere aside off on a desk or in a rack with all computers close by

The device was plug and play, and enabled itself straight away and it works well. The cable connected remote button is good as you can switch between the 2 PCs easily, allowing the main interface unit to be out of sight. As the cables came with it too, it made the job quick and easy providing an excellent outcome.Note: had to change the sleep settings on one of the PCs as when it went to sleep it wouldn't wake via the switch, and had to be rebooted every time.Other than that a handy resolution for not a lot of money.
