The Cable Matters 4-Port USB & USB-C Switch is a great solution for switching USB devices between two computers. It features two USB-A and two USB-C ports for data-only peripherals, meaning no video passthrough, no HDMI over USB-C, and no host charging. That’s important to note because USB-C standards can be confusing, with different cables and devices supporting different functions like video, audio, or data. This is not a KVM switch—it’s strictly for USB data devices. That said, for its intended purpose, it works really well. I’m using it to switch MIDI controllers between a Mac and an iPad, and the transition is smooth—takes about 2–3 seconds to swap between devices. It also includes a wireless remote, which is a nice touch. Power delivery is included, though I initially thought it was required. Now that I have fewer devices connected, it seems to hold power even when unplugged. At $49.99 with a 10% off coupon, it’s a fair price for what you get. I own a few USB-C switches, and many in this range only have two inputs, whereas this one gives you four total (USB-C + USB-A). It’s not the best in its category, and I would have liked at least one video passthrough option, but for what it is, it’s a solid, reliable switch at a reasonable price. Five stars.

Better than others, because it has enough power draw to support my devices. However, the remote connection is not reliable, and that's disappointing because I wanted to mount this out of the way.

I'm using this USB KVM/hub between two PCs, one with USB 3.1 Gen 2 and the other USB 3.0, both USB-A ports. USB-C and USB-A ports on the front is nice as more devices are using USB-C. It works fine with a USB A to C cable for these older PCs (only includes USB-C to C cables). Speeds were good, 450 MB/s for a 5 Gbps SSD. Remote doesn't have to be pointed at box since it's RF, which is nice. Handles 2.4A devices just fine (like a hard drive). I like the on/off switch on the side for keeping USB devices off when I won't be using them. This is a decent value USB 10 Gbps switch and hub with some useful features.Powers off USB ports when selected PC is asleep or off. RF remote uses 2.4 GHz. Remote buttons are pretty cheap (plastic dome). Uses VIA Labs USB chipset. Switch is small and lightweight so mounting tape should easily hold it. Worked fine without external power supply, for low-power USB devices.Testing power handling, it delivers 4.83V at 2.4A load, well within spec. Uses a boosting power supply so that even if voltage drops from PC and optional power adapter, it gets raised for the USB devices. I fed it 4.6V at 2.54A while it output 4.9V at 2.1A to USB device. Ripple is 307 mV p-p (40 kHz) for 2.1A load, which is somewhat high, but it's just small spikes (see photo), so I'm not sure how significant it is. Included USB-C to C cables are decent, supporting USB 3.1 10 Gbps. They handled power decently, dropping to 4.6V with a 2.4A load, well within USB spec.

Cables really do matter. I purchased two ugreen devices prior to this and it would not work with my mechanic keyboard/mouse. My mech keyboard pulled too much power, so the hubs weren't able to power it. This is the first one that finally works! I didn't even have to supply it with extra power. It comes with a wireless usb controller which is even better than third party ones that have a cable running across your table. It takes about a second to swap over, so it's fast enough for me.I didn't initially realize there was an on/off switch on the side so I thought the device was broken. When it's off, nothing works. I guess this is useful if you're connecting it to a mic/camera and you want to completely disable it.

This dock is easy to set up, and it is plug-and-play. It uses a single button switch, and devices detect immediately. This works with a Mac and PC. If used on a Mac any storage devices should be ejected or else the OS will pop up a warning message. Speeds are good with USB 3 devices operating at full speed.
