No special holder is required for this type of die, any wrench large enough will suffice
Die size is etched on the surface for easy identification. The first number represents the diameter of the machine screw die; the second number is the distance between the threads per inch

The M8 threading die cut threads of the appropriate size. The outside hex diameter is slightly less than the 1 inch of my other similar dies. That is not a significant problem for me.

Small size die for M10x1.0 that I had to turn with a box wrench. It cleaned up threads nicely, but not sure I would use it to cut new threads.

Unfortunately the die was not deburred.

Do not hold up well and reuse but I was using it to cut stainless steel. Probably not a good idea to use it for that application

I was dyeing to use use it; and the thread was smooth and not rough.
