I used this die holder for a 7/8 14 thread per inch die to clean old threads on input shaft. it feels comfortable in my hands

Good replacement for me. I have broken both of my HF die holders. Both metric and SAE. This one is a lot sturdier. It is still made from aluminium, but manufacturing is better. Should take a lot more torque. I have the 1" round dies that fit in this and you tighten the small screw to hold in place. It will also hold the 1" hex dies. Of course since this is sturdier, it's a bit longer. So it does not fit in my HF set case. Have to live with it.

This is a piece of junk. The set screw stripped out the threads the first time I tightened it. It would not hold the die in place straight. It is too lightweight for continued use. I'll not buy this produce again.

Others might have received an item that differed from the image in the ad, the one I received is exactly as described. Seems well built and is fairly high quality.
