I had another light like this one and it was mostly good except that it didn't have all the light levels advertised in each color temperature, only in the yellowest setting. This light overcomes that problem, so I like it better from the start simply because it does what it says it'll do.The price of this one is about $2 more than my previous one but for that extra money you get a light that remembers what setting it was on when it was last turned off, something missing from my previous light. You also get instructions which describe every feature I see on this light, along with a charging cable and storage bag. The instructions are pretty good, the English is not perfect but good enough to get their meaning. The gooseneck is good and flexible and the clamp is really strong, with a scooped shape on the front so your papers or a book can lay against it without bulging out.I haven't had it long enough to go through a charging cycle, so can't comment on that but I will say I hope it does better than my other light which died because we didn't charge it frequently enough (I guess). One day it just wouldn't come on and still wouldn't after 24 hours on a charger. The instructions for this one say to charge it every 6 months if you aren't using it.Conclusion: This light improves on every feature of my previous light while being only $2 more. If the manufacturer behind the scenes is the same then they did a good job listening to review comments and turning out a better product.

I get so many rechargeable items with an expectation that something will be wrong with them...but not this! I am very impressed and happy with this lamp! I am a member of out little community orchestra and I was looking for a light that easily lights up a double page spread, or an open flat book, and this does without having to adjust from page to page! I tested this at home on medium lighting, which seems to be sufficient for most instances, and it only used up about 25% of its power after 2 hours of being continuously on.I like that the top side of the clip is thin, and when clipped onto the music stand a music book can sit right on top in front of it without a bulge or page flip. The bottom of the clip is weighted just right so this whole lamp can also sit by itself on a tabletop or desktop without being clipped, and without tipping over! The light settings are nice too. There are 5 brightness steps, which are distinctly enough, rather than a kazillion that really don't do much. There are 3 lighting temperature settings that give you a personal choice. Clicking on their buttons are easy. Recharging is relatively quick, and this comes with a nice carry bag.

Huge upgrade from the old incandescent stand lights I'm used to and from trying to use a book light (or 2) in a dark performance. I don't play a ton of pit orchestras anymore, but we tend to do at least a few gigs a year in the dark, or in poor lighting. At city Christmas tree lighting back in November, my wife was holding cell phone flashlights over our shoulders so my daughter and I could see the music as we played--the city was helpful enough to rig up spotlights for the makeshift stage (shining right into our eyes) with no lighting behind us so we could see the music! This casts a nice wide light, enough for a full 2-page spread on a music stand. The color adjustment of the lighting is nice, especially if you need the brighter white for older yellowed pages. To test out the battery power, I ran it on medium brightness (after charging) for 8 full hours with no problem. When I plugged it back in, it was still showing 2 solid lights with the 3rd flashing, so probably about half full? Either way, that should be more than enough runtime for almost any need. The clip has a nice, wide opening (probably at least an inch), so it should clamp to nearly any music stand or piano shelf.Looking to pick up a couple more for future gigs.

I have owned lights like this one before. This one has some of the good qualities to look for in a light for gigs. The clip that holds the light in place is pretty good but would benefit from just a little more strength. In most of the settings where I have used such a light, it would serve fine. The five levels of brightness cover a pretty wide array of intensity, giving flexibility in finding just the right amount of light for the setting (some places you need a LOT of light and in others just a bit). The three color temps give leeway in discovering which shade will work best for you, a pretty subjective decision but a nice one to have. The controls are conveniently placed on top of the light bar so there is no groping around in the dark trying to make adjustments or to just turn the light on (or off, for that matter). It fits nicely on the music stand I like best and gives great coverage across the stand’s deck. And as you can see from the picture, it will, in fact, light up all 88 keys on a digital piano as well as the music on the stand. The light is lightweight but seems to be well made, not flimsy or too easily bent. I would say the workmanship is about as good as other lights Iike this I’ve owned and at a better price point than most.It folds up well and comes with a nice little carry bag and a charging cable. All in all, this seems like a good product and should take care of most of a musician’s lighting needs whether it’s practicing at home or playing a gig in a club with very little light. Throw in a good price and I’d say this looks like a good deal.I recommend it!Remember, the real light comes from the MUSIC!
