I was awaiting receipt of this unit since I had a project with 8 cabinet doors requiring two different vertical handles (and the prospect of 15 to 20 additional doors if this went well.). Well, the hardest part was opening the plastic case - my advice is "Be Patient" and don't force the clasps; once you figure out how to push the plastic "bump" they un-snap and re-snap "okay". The cushion inserts are very good and I can see making a wooden case to replace the plastic, but re use these inserts. The unit itself is well made and all components are metal, but you should think of it as an "instrument"; not a rugged tool/fixture. Logically assembling the components and assuring each is square before adding the next component gave me excellent results. The thumb screws held solidly for each size handle. But again, as an "instrument", plan your workspace ahead so you have a place to set this gauge down between handles (I had a towel on a portable workbench). Be careful! I'm sure if you drop this from any significant height, squareness would be lost & require a complete re-set.I used two Quick-Clamps to hold this gauge in place on each door. It worked well with one clamp on the "end stop" and one on the "center cross beam". This left both hands free and both bushings exposed for drilling.Bottom line is this drill guide gave me great repeatability and, once over the learning curve on the first handle, I was able to do each successive handle in just a couple of minutes. Well worth the purchase.

Anyone who has done cabinet and drawer handles knows there's a variety of jigs out there to help make this process easier or you can make a jig yourself, which is what I've done in the past. But since I'm looking at many handles in the next couple of years as we redo our kitchen, I decided to find a commercial jig and, after shopping among the large numbers of competing project, chose this one. It's solid as a rock. The clamp screws work great so nothing moves at all, which is very important for repeatability. Once set up, I drilled and mounted four handles in nothing flat. I think this is a better choice than the plastic one's you see. It is a copy of the original that costs five times as much but I'll bet you would be hard pressed to tell the difference.

I have used a grease pencil and ruler for installing pulls and knows on doors and drawers for over 50 years. Recently, I ran out of handles for 3 drawers and when they were delayed I decided to go ahead and finish them. I don't like to use anything on fresh finish. So, I decided to try this jig. When it arrived I was pleased with the quality of the jig. It was easy to use, accurate and fast. My only complaint is the ruler for centering the handle is to short for drawers wider than 15 inches. Which many of the drawers I make are. I would like to see a 0 rule to handle up to 24 inches.

When I first opened the box, I was impressed with the hard plastic storage box that it came in. However, the instructions for assembly of the tool was a little lacking. It wasn’t too difficult to figure out but it would have been nice to have a little bit more direction. Once I got it all put together and locked in to the spacing that I needed, my new cabinet hardware installation was relatively smooth and quick. This jig made this daunting project much more tolerable than other jigs that I have used in the past. Overall, I would highly recommend this product. Some advice: make sure you check and tighten the screws to your settings often because they do wiggle loose during the process.

So far, so good!I wanted a cabinet jig badly- ive been doing the same ikea kitchens quite a few times now, and always drag my feet when it comes to installing the hardware. However, I really didn't want to spend $200 for the premium jig when I am only doing a dozen handles three times a year; but I also didnt want to be a cheap ass and end up with a pain in the ass piece of plastic junk for $10-20 that would just make me annoyed and feel regret. So I chose this one, and am pretty confidant that it will work well, as well as be durable. The construction is all nice aluminum and steel, and the fitment of the slides and thumbscrews feels tight, smooth and positive. Absolutely no jiggle or wiggle. Also comes with a few replacement bushings and thumbscrews, which is nice. Case is meh, sort of janky and requiring you to completely break down the instrument to store it, but Im not too concerned because of the light frequency of my use, and considering the affordable price, its much better than nothing. The only thing I dont like so far is the font used on the vertical slide is different than the pictures, and at least to me identifies its chinese origin. But its mainly and aesthtic quibble and has nothing to do with the functionality at all, which is the main thing and what this does well.

My wife declared that I was now in charge of putting new pulls on the cabinets she was refacing as she was have alignment and control issues when drill the holes. I like to empower, so I searched for an alignment tool. Finding and ordering this product I am impressed with it flexibility and control for use as a drill guide. We worked together once we received it and now she is confident ,instead of hesitant, to continue the project.

Received this product in a timely manner. It was well packaged and came without any defects or shortcomings as far as I could notice. All parts are metal and all measuring parts are metric as well as imperial. I liked that a small bag with hex key, and spare holes and screws were included: great service!I have to jig 12 kitchen cabinets doors and 9 drawer fronts. I will update this review once I am done in the coming week. Its been 2 weeks or so and used the jig to drill my cabinet fronts. I decided (after reading an earlier comment by someone) to not directly drill through the jig holes but instead mark the holes with a sharp pencil. I am glad I did so, because in spite of me being very careful and precise in mounting the jig against the fronts, there was an "ever so slight" deviation (again, I am quoting an earlier other comment) between the vertical holes (most of them did not line up perfectly plumb) once I drilled the holes! . I ended up using a bigger drill bit to make the holes a little wider (making sure the feet of the handle would cover the hole!) and a small level to plumb and level both the vertical and horizontal handles. All in all worth its money, major time saver, but I would not directly drill through the jig holes.

I am a cabinet maker and I always try to get good tools with low cost.Same handle jig at local store sale at 250+gst, even when it is on sale it is stil 150+This jig really helps a lot on handle installing, save tons of time when there are hundreds of holes need to drill. That is the reason why it is so expensive in the local tool store. This one is totally same, all alloy makes it durable as well, and I don`t need to get very mad when it is got stolen, very happy of this
