These have a very short break in time and stay in tune a lot better than other strings in this price range. They have a darker sound (better than Tonicas) which is what we were going for, but the E string is a bit dull to his ears so he has a Wondertone E on. My kid is a snob and only wants strings that cost as much as Evah golds, so for him to be happy with $35 strings and to no longer demand Larsen Il Cannone or Wondertone is the BEST. THING. EVER.Buying another couple of sets as spares. So far, I've been really happy with everything Viotti, and these strings are no exception.

I have tried a set on my 140 year old Italian violin and the sound was definitely brilliant. The strings responded easily and having a silver wound G and D strings, as well as the gold plated E string helped the evenness and balance between strings.Recommended for all levels!Edit (February 2024): Just ordered two additional sets of these strings! The Viotti strings are long lasting and maintain their brilliant sound in time. While I played on a lot more expensive sets of strings, most of these degraded in about 3-4 weeks with daily practice, rehearsals and concerts. Not so with the Viotti strings! These are great and will sound wonderful and last as well.

Just bought these strings for my electric violin. To say I was amazed is an understatement. I have purchased strings that cost more than 4 times what these cost. Incredible tone..So far I can say these are the best value and quality of any string I have used.

The ball broke off the D String while tuning. Was it the string or me? Don't know. The others went on fine and tuned well and sound fine.

These strings are of pretty decent quality. I wouldn't use them as a professional violinist, but for day to day use in a high school or below setting, these strings would be fine. I like the strings and the way that they are constructed.

Sé que cada violín es diferente y es difícil encontrar las cuerdas adecuadas para cada uno, sin embargo, en mi violín antigüo de aproximadamente 1900 estas cuerdas hacen que tenga un sonido profundo y equilibrado, no suena nada metálico, se puede decir que esta marca puede competir con las marcas de cuerdas Alemanas y Austriacas famosas.

Tres cuerdas dañadas. Una sin bola, en la foto,otra torcida de que fue enredada en un violín. Otra deshebrada del extremo. Desastre total.
