I plan to use this differently than advertised. Instead of using it as a deep fryer, I will use it as a parts cleaner. I can put acetone or gasoline or other cleaning solution in the large container, my parts in the slightly smaller basket, lower them in there and after some hours, lift them out of the cleaning solution.There are surely similar solutions available in the tool space, but they scale rapidly with size and something this large would be hundreds of dollars. Probably stainless steel rather than aluminum, but with some care this will do the job just as well.If the parts are very heavy I'll have to hook both sides of the basket rather than relying on the single handle to lift it out, but that's easy enough to do.

If you're planning to do a lot of deep frying or will be deep frying large stuff, this might be the ideal pan for you. The basket fits well inside providing good coverage, too.My only complaint is that while the basket being aluminum is fine, I really wish the pan had been steel so I could use it on an induction burner or that, as aluminum, it had been made just a little bit thicker. It feels pretty thin so I have some small concerns about the long-term life as I've had cooking supplies of this thickness that have gotten pretty dinged up over the years.Having said that, I knew at least, that it was aluminum when ordering so the only think I'm really docking a star for is the thickness, relative to the overall size of this product.

Bottom the unit has indentation, which makes it not work good on electric stoves or stoves that are flat

This is my unbiased review. This item is very big, big enough that it extends over (2) stove top burners. It seems well made and durable. This would be very good for frying large quantities, like a whole chicken (cut into pieces of course). For smaller meals or sides like french fries, onion rings, etc... unless making for a large group/family, it would be a bit of overkill.

This fryer pan is definitely large enough for frying large quantities, however, I don’t think I’ll use this pan as a fryer, it’s too big for my small family. I’m going to try roasting a turkey in this pan, I think it will work great.

This is so perfect for frying chicken! I can do several pieces at once and then just pull up the basket and secure it to the side of the base to drain. It is easy to clean, too.

It might be 18 quarts but you can't use more than 10 quarts of oil safely. My biggest issue is the hanger does not hold the basket out of the pan completely. I included so photos - one showing proper way to attach the handle to the basket. I'll use it but I would not order it again.

Despite what Rufus says about this product, IT DOES NOT COME WITH A THERMOMETER! Had I known this, I would have purchased one along with the fryer!Very deceiving with this new “AI†which has been added to Amazon.Super thumbs down👎ðŸ¼
