I bought these as a backup to my plug in Digital Heater and Digital Thermometer. It's within 0.1 degrees across the board (all 3 thermometers). I'm extremely satisfied. These look like many on Amazon (I've tried others that look the same-bad) but the work. For any aquarium I'd recommend these. It's peace of mind with a battery backup that's accurate. Cheap and good? It's possible.. Here's the example.

The accuracy is of by two degrees but that's not a problem for me. I measured the water with a different thermometer at 89 degrees and the 2 I put in my aquarium were reading 87.2 degrees. The suction is decent to hold up the thermometers in a fish tank but they aren't strong enough to withstand a small tug from my eed eared sliders. My turtle pulled one of them into the water and I didn't realize until late in the evening. But I retrieved it, took out the battery and let it dry out for a day. I put a new battery in and it was still working and giving the same accuracy as the other thermometer as if nothing had happened. Overall I'm satisfied with their functionality.

I've bought these 5 times because of the price. Plus, there are so many sellers of similar products, with similar ratings, so it's hard to know who really has the best product. So I just deal with it as below. Overall, I am currently using many of these in my aquarium room with 19 tanks.Laying these out at room temperature, majority of them had the same temp. One was +5 degrees and one was -3 degrees, with others ranging in between, as compared to the majority at 70 degrees. Not sure if there is a way to recalibrate. So I use a fluorescent marker and put the temp adjustment on that thermometer.Majority of the suction cups don't stay stuck to either the inside or outside of the aquarium glass. On the outside, I've used just a dab of silicone to hold in place. For the inside, I'm not as worried about it sticking, as long as it's in the water close to flow and not close to the heaters. I don't use silicone on the inside because I want to be able to clean the glass quickly and easily. As for being able to read, as long as I'm looking directly from the front at them and the room is well lit, they are easy to read. But if I'm at an angle or I don't have the room light on (just the aquarium lights) then no quite so easy. I like that I can toggle between degrees F and C if I want to, not that I need to very often. More out of curiosity when I first got them.I've had to replace the batteries in a few of these right after I got them. But other than that, I really like using these and having them for my aquarium room.

Not the most slightly thing to look at in your tank BUT it works well! We are able to monitor our dishes water temp with accuracy. I would highly recommend this.

This is not something I will buy again. I thought it was a battery and bought new ones and still won't work. It's junk.

Initially worked well until the suction cups started failing. Useless after that……I used this product in a saltwater aquarium so this may have affected its durability.

First of all, these thermometers were delivered already powered on, even though they were unopened and seemingly not tampered with. There was supposed to be a plastic tab to pull out in the battery compartment, but that wasn’t the case. They also fluctuated constantly, reading different ambient temperatures from each other. This was the same when I put them in the same bucket of water. The suction cup on one was horrible, no matter what I tried, it refused to stick. I ended up taping it to the glass.I honestly don’t know why I put them in my tanks, I just don’t feel like going through the trouble of returning them. My tanks have heaters with a rough estimate of the temp, I just wanted something more accurate as a double-check, but this ain’t it! The temperature it reads is probably wrong, but it does indicate fluctuations (for example, I had the lid of for a while last night, and the thermometer showed a decrease). Aside from that, they’re cheap and I don’t trust them, so they’re pretty useless.Bottom line: you get what you pay for. If you need a precise reading, spend a little more and get something better.

Like that I am getting the correct temp reading. I compared it to another thermometer.

Great product, double checked readings with laser temp. reader - accurate. Nice long cord & 2 suctions cups really helped ! Used for 10 days testing various faucet temperatures.

I use to monitor temp. in swimming pool. Attach fishing weight to sensor so it will sink. Much more accurate than a mercury floating pool thermometer. Have extras in case of failure in the future.

I use this product to measure the water temp when on the boat. The sensor actually stuck to the transom and the unit stuck to the inside wall of the boat even while moving. Quite impressive really. I tested against other thermometers and it is very accurate
