In the ongoing process of restoring a 1967 Oldsmobile. The 56 year old factory original Delco Remy voltage regulator was not working. This Auto Occasion regulator was an exact replacement and fit perfectly. Existing wiring harness connector and condenser plugged in solidly. Output was 13.6 volts with vehicle running on a 75 degree day which is where it should be. Warning light on dash operated as it should. No surprises.The regulator is solid state versus the original’s electro-mechanical construction. It is equivalent to GM part number 1119519 or AC Delco part D663. It is also equivalent to aftermarket Standard Motor Products VR103 or Wells 1V1038This regulator is designed for vehicles with EXTERNALLY regulated alternators only – specifically the Delco Remy 10DN alternator (or equivalent). These were found in various amperage ratings from 37 to 55 on GM vehicles beginning in 1963 and continuing until superseded with the 10SI (internally regulated) alternator in 1972-1973.At some point I hope to restore the metal cover with the Delco Remy/made in USA embossing from my original voltage regulator and retrofit it to this regulator for a more original appearance. For now though, it is in place and working as it should. Still too soon to comment on durability or longevity. If problems develop, I will return and update. Perfect fit. Looks like an original piece. Running at 14.1 volts. Time will tell.
