I try to make my own furniture when I can, and I used to use 220 grit between poly coats but it was extremely abrasive on the stain. I heard someone mention these working well and I gave it a try, and wow. It was so much quicker and easier to use, it made the wood soft without stripping any stain. This is a massive pack for the price so I see them lasting me awhile. So far, I made a console table and curtain rods using these. If I come across any hiccups in future projects, I will update.

Not as good as 3m, 3m is a much denser pad, which lasts much longer probably at least 3 times longer. Don't try to save money as I did.

I am using this to knock the shine off of the kitchen cabinets I am finishing them with de waxed orange shellac. I applied (wipe on) 8-10 thin coats and final coat gets a once over with these pads on a random orbital sander mostly with touch ups by hand. Any future touch ups as the finish gets worn, just wipe the shellac on the lightly sanded place and use these pads to blend the edges. Cabinet doors always look freshly refinished.

excellent value. REplacement for 000 steel wool. I use it with a sanding block to remove minor surface rust from a table saw top. Removes the rust without scratching the surface.

There are several pads...will be using it mostly for smoothing my pottery before I fire in kiln. Also will use in kitchen to clean pans...they are excellent as they are abrasive enough to get a good clean but do not scratch you pans!
