Easy to put on the bow, easy finger placement so your hand or arm does not hurt and leaves you relaxed and happy to play. I am learning to play cello on my own, live in the boonies and teachers are hard to find here, and highly recommend this especially if you don't like pain. Not anywhere near a music store so Thank you Amazon.

I’m experimenting with this device to help students with their hold. It seems to work better than other bow grips I’ve tried. The students seem to like it and it’s comfortable.

Easy and quick to fit. Instant. Could be swapped from bow to bow within seconds. No need to detach the frog or loosen hair. Can be left in place and the screw will function as normal. Nice that the eye on the frog is still visible as this is a lovely feature on many bows. The grip could also be placed further along the bow for a baroque idea. Solid plastic, so not as comfortable as squashy rubber or foam would be. Significant weight will affect bow balance. Pupils' fingers will need training. Pinky and first finger should be on the stick as usual. It's tempting to place fingers 1 and 2 on the grip but this will result in a poor bow hold, giving first finger much less control. Thumb also still needs training to bend. Fits small bow sizes, any size. Bit pricey but still recommended.

As an adult learning to play Cello and trying to find my bearings with the Bow, I opted for this style vs the Cellophant. I love my elephants but not on my Bow. This product came in a plastic resealable package that easily fits in one of my case’s compartments. It slides right onto the Bow with ease and my fingers fit comfortably in the subtle grooves once it’s on. No need to take apart the frog either which I liked. Simply slide it on and you’re ready to go!

Short version: adult beginners struggling with bow-hold, buy this!Long version: this little device has totally re-invigorated my relationship to practice. It turns out SO much of the plateau I was at was due to bow-hold struggles! I had never gotten a hold down that worked for me, constantly felt I was going to drop the bow / gripped it too tight / etc, and it took so much concentration to hold that my left hand really suffered. The first time I practiced with this grip, I played my entire practice rep SO smoothly and well - because this freed up so much of my attention for everything else besides holding the bow. It’s helping me develop those muscles and learn how it should feel to hold my bow without the grip on, as well. I use it while I warm up, to get the feel for the hand-shape, and then take it off to practice rep, and even without the grip my hold is improving by leaps and bounds. It’s not a crutch you’ll be dependent on (like I was afraid it would be), it’s just training wheels!

I bought this to help solidify my bow grip. It's a great tool, and I think if I had larger hands it would have worked better. Unfortunately for me though, it was too bulky to play effectively.

This bow grip is so much better than my previous one that was hard to pull on and off the bow. It really keeps my hand aligned properly. I am a little beyond being a beginner, but I still need help with holding the bow and this works great! It is so easy to put on and take off. It clicks into place when properly put on, so I can tell when it's aligned correctly.

I have arthritis in my hands which has been limiting my ability to properly hold and use my cello bow. I was afraid my playing days were just about over. The Wada cello bow grip aid initially felt uncomfortable, but after using it for several days I discovered that the shape and bulk of the grip aid helped to relieve the pain and tension in my hand. I can not only play longer, but it has helped me relax my hand so that I can use a variety of bowing techniques that I felt the arthritis had stolen. I strongly recommend this product for others who find arthritis is affecting their bow technique.

I have pre-existing carpal tunnel, and my normal bow hold was very painful in my thumb and forearm no matter what I tried. This almost instantly relieved the pain. Still took a few hours to get used to the added weight of the bow and to not grip too hard. But the extra weight is well worth it as I don't have pain anymore while playing
