I love this strap. It has a terrific saddle leather smell, too. The stitching is perfect and gives the strap a true equine harness appearance. I had to doctor my strap a bit because my mandolin endpin is quite large in diameter; however, the leather is soft & supple enough to cleanly enlarge the endpin hole. If you must doctor this strap, simply work slowly with a leather punch and/or disposable scalpel (#15 blade) and all will go well. Proceed slowly, remove tiny amounts of leather between "fit checks." In closing, I would highly recommend tossing the Chicago screws. I purchased a matching leather boot lace, soaked it in water, and tied the scroll loop together with the boot lace and in a square knot which dried very tightly.

Would like to see some alterations like which I did. This was a leather mandolin strap. I did not like the metal screws which held the leather together. I eliminated them which should have been done this way and would cut cost of manufacture.

The strap is very high quality, and beautiful. However, I needed it to be the full 50" length that was advertised. I could only get it to 44", which was just too short for my purposes. Otherwise, this is a 5 Star strap.

Well made, quality leather, easily adjusted for personal length preference. It’s a little tight around the scroll, but it fits my instrument with a little effort. I would definitely recommend this strap.
