Coolcut (aluminum oxide) and Topcut (zirconia alumnia) sanding discs by Walter Surface Technologies, the backer pad is graded for maximum rotational speed of 13300 RPM. Sanding backer pad is manufactured using industrial quality, impact-resistant plastic that ensures flexibility. This flexible sanding disc pad can be used for weld blending or removal purposes and during finishing curved surface. The clamping nut is available to ensure firm placement on sanding disc.

This is the second one I bought. I had to replace the first one due to a mishap, nothing wrong with it from the factory but it became damaged. It's pretty well made, but I wish it was a bit sturdier to handle the tough conditions and high torque of an angle grinder. Overall, I'm satisfied.

Milwaukee makes a good angle grinder but the nut holding the disc, prevents you from using anything but the outer 3/4'' of the abrasive disc. The Walter pad has a low profile nut allowing use of most of the disc's face.The nut is made of a cheap aluminum / zinc alloy, I don't expect it to live very long. If the nut were made of heat treated steel, and really fit the pin style spanner, then this would be great !

This product is a little flimsy but workable. My big issue is it does not come with a wrench and the nut provided to hold down sandpaper has non standard hole spacing so the standard pin wrench that comes with 99% of all 4-1/2" grinders sold, will not fit the nut that comes with this pad!

To short for dewalt 4.5 electric grinder needed 7/8 hole in pad to fit bottom warsher.
Great design poor quality.

Not much to say if you know Walter products. I completely missed that it was 4.5†though. I searched for 5†and this one popped up so I purchased it not noticing it was only 4.5â€. I’ll make it work

I’ve used these for almost 20 years and they’re fantastic. But recently they’ve gone from a reasonable $17 or so to around double that.
