The Watts 3/4" Lead-Free Bronze Pressure Relief Valve is engineered to offer fully automatic, self-closing temperature and pressure relief protection for hot water storage tanks and water heaters with capacities up to 105,000 BTU/hr. This versatile 2-in-1 valve is an essential safety component, combining both temperature and pressure relief functions in a single unit.
Constructed with a durable lead-free copper alloy body, the valve ensures long-lasting performance and reliability. Its wetted surface that comes into contact with consumable water contains less than 0.25% lead by weight, ensuring safety and compliance with lead-free regulations. This makes it suitable for use in potable water systems, safeguarding both the system and users from lead.
This valve also features NPT male inlet and NPT female outlet connections, making installation straightforward, and its test lever allows for easy testing and maintenance. Furthermore, this valve features an advanced, unique thermostat design. The thermostat is equipped with a special thermo-bonded coating, which enhances its accuracy and responsiveness. For optimal performance, the thermostat must be immersed in water within the top 6 inches (152 mm) of the tank. This ensures precise temperature control, preventing overheating and potential damage to the water heater or storage tank.
Designed to meet rigorous safety standards, the Watts Pressure Relief Valve is both ASME rated and CSA listed. It is engineered to handle a temperature relief setting of 210° F (99° C) and a pressure relief range of 75 to 150 psi (5.2 to 10.3 bar), providing comprehensive protection against the dangers of overpressure and excessive temperatures.

Replaces relief valve on hot water heater and this is the second one since original installation. No problem with quality (once sold this brand) so partial to it, but condition of water shortens life of valve, so just a necessary maintenance procedure.

The T&P Valve on our hot water heater was leaking. It was part number SL100XL-3M7. This one has a shorter neck than ours. I bought it for the emergency and it fit OK but rubbed up against the plastic trim on the hot water heater but still works perfectly. This product works perfectly as intended so I'm giving it 5 stars. I need to find an purchase the correct T&P Valve as this one is too short for our tank.

My valve had been leaking since I drained my hot water tank and I manually opened my old valve to help drain the tank. I finally got around to replacing the old leaking valve with this part and no more leaks. It is working great. Was an exact match to one that was in my hot water tank.

The price was right and it ariived just in time, It match the old valve just right and it was a easy install. Remember to shut the water inlet valve off and drain the tank below the the inlet that the old valve came out of, if not could be a big water mess!
