I have seen a lot of negative reviews on this product and I almost did not buy one because of this. Well I got mine yesterday and it is very nice and made well. The clock will mount with 2 of the lower screw holes on the rear clock flange. The wood base is set off center to the wood saddle so all you need to do is put the clock in the saddle with the face of the clock facing the larger side of the bottom base and then slide the clock all the way forward until the back flange of the clock hits the wood saddle. At this point you will see the two lower holes on the clock flange line up nicely with the wood saddle (if the clocks number 12 in on top) and if you want to mount it with screws you can. I used two small brass wood screws. Would buy again and probably will for the barometer.

Bought this to match one I received years ago as a gift. Not an exact match to the earlier one, but the further you get away, the closer it matches.

It totally muffels the clocks chimes. The holes on the clock are on the bottom of the case.So it cannot be heard..

The one I purchase was not well made. It is two pieces a base and the holder which are attached together. This process should be done with glue not staples. The result is a loose fit giving the appearance that the heavy clock could fall, Secondly the color of the two pieces does not match.This stand dose not match the quality of the clock.

It does not fit a clock of 4.5 inch-diameter. It actually fits a clock of 4 inch-diameter, based on the actual body of the clock (not the face or the fringe of the back of the clock). The quality is ok. The depth is a little shallow at 1 5/8 inch wide. It is not wide but should be enough to hold a clock that fits the curvature well. Color is medium brown, thin coating of varnish but ok.
