Have used in hard and soft wood at low and high speed (600-2400 rpm). Smooth rotation, good bite in the project. Much nicer than just rotating around a steel point. Would recommend punching a guide hole for easier alignment as the teeth make seeing the center point a bit difficult. Good buy.

needed a revolving tailstock for my CNC 4th axis that would bite into the end, this works perfect. Small enough and the center sprung loaded center easily likes up with the center of the piece
never too old to learn :)

I bought this live center a little over a year ago, have only used it on about 6 bowls, the bearings are already out. I would not recommend this live center to anyone

This live center holds very well and I like the teeth around the circumference of the end. It seems to help when the stock end is not perfectly flat. However, after a few hours of use, I noticed that the retaining ring on the rear of the unit had some loose. After this happened a couple of times I used some locktite and that has fixed the problem. That is just a minor problem and this live center is my main unit.

This is at a fraction of the cost of buying a Robert Sorby one and and is as good, if not better!

Since this is a live center, it does not chew up or burn the spindle. I wish there were other sizes.

I have an older shopsmith and my live center kept coming apart looking for a new one I saw this one it has great reviews and I liked the extra holding grip it provides had no issues with it while turning and it fit my shopsmith with no issues.

Tried a couple of others but this so far outshines them all.Like that shape as I can get my tools closer to the centre. It even has a screw to release the centre which most don't have.If the centre on the cheaper ones is pushed in that more often that's where it will stay.Best purchase so far for my wood lathe.

This allows you to put a live "steb-type" centre in your tailstock. Works beautifully, free spinning and holds well.

I like the way the teeth grab the wood but after a fair bit of use I notice that the center has some play in it and it wobbles a bit.
