I just finished building my first set of 29er wheels (Stans Arch) using this stand and am glad I took a chance on this item. I was not expecting much based on some of the reviews but I found this stand to be a perfect solution as I did not want to invest a lot of money on a professional truing stand.It has some flaws but I give it 5 stars because it is easy to use and I got great results without spending a lot.The reviewers that mention the item is missassembled most likely unfolded the item the wrong way. It can expand/unfold two ways, with the narrower legs towards you or away from you. If you unfold it the wrong way the truing arms will not be positioned correctly.This stand made tensioning and truing my wheels very easy. One of the truing arm feelers is looser than the other but I only use one feeler and flip the wheel over when working on a wheel. Use an elastic band wrapped around a feeler if you want to make it tighter.I do not recommend using this stand to check dish. Use a dishing tool or the method I describe below.The truing arms are not perfectly centered so I did not use the stand to check dish. I checked the wheel dish on a table using a couple of cups (same height) and a stack of coins. It is possible to center the truing arms with a little bending if desired.The plastic arms that the wheel sits in have a little flex. This can cause the wheel to shift a little left or right when the wheel is tightened onto the stand. This will make measuring dish inaccurate.

This item is not for use if your not using it for a mobile device or way to true your wheels in a already stable environment. It moves around and is not good unless you can make it stable and it won't keep moving. I am not happy with the way it doesn't have a set position to keep your truing stable it moves around to much for this to be precise as it should be. If you using it to take over to another place to straighten a rim it is at best okay but by no means is it precise like a wheel ytikng device should be. I do not recommend this product to anyone who's trying to do this all the time it isn't that precise so if your just using it to get close maybe but if you want the rims precise not so much. I do not recommend for any bike builder to use this product. Sorry to hokey. Dale

I bought this truing stand without reading any reviews, which, in hindsight was a good thing. If I had read them first I never would have purchased this item. I'm not saying it's perfect by any means, but it does the job.I purchased the stand after noticing a bad wobble in my back tire after changing my brakes. I don't currently have a pro-stand budget, so I went cheap but looks like it'll work. It does.First off, it came wrapped in bubble wrap and undamaged. I did indeed open the legs backwards at first just like another reviewer said, but quickly discovered my error and reversed them.Now on to how it works. The pins are loose intentionally. You don't spin the wheel and then move the pins in to touch at the high spot. You touch the pin to the wheel, spin it, and let the wobble push it out to the high spot. Once you've found it you can stop the spin and rotate the wheel back and forth over the high spot to see how many spokes need tightened. In my case it was five. I tightened a half turn, pushed the pin back in to touch the wheel, and gave it a spin. Still high, but now not as much. Tighten spokes, push in the pin, give it a whirl, etc. About fifteen minutes later, I had the wheel down to an acceptable "true." A very minor wobble, but it no longer rubbed against my brakes which was the goal.For no more than I spent, and no longer than it took to true the wheel, I'm happy with the purchase. Not sure I'd buy it again, but worth the money this time.

Might be lightly built, but for a basic wheel screwing stand is fine. However, if you can avoid through in your own wheels, you probably should.

Has some adjustments that are nice (and helpful.) Works well for the occasional job. (Might be great for everyday use - I just use it occasionally.) Folds up easily for storage.

This is good value for money. It does everything one needs from a truing stand. I am a novice at truing wheels but managed to correct a serious wobble in a rear wheel from about 15 mm to less than 2 mm in about one hour of correcting. I would suggest that anyone seriously trying to true a wheel get a spoke tensionometer as well as this truing stand.

It's very wobbly. The adjusters slide back and forth when the rim touches them, so you have to hold them as it spins. This one thing gives it low ratings. If they were threaded then it would get much higher ratings. I wouldn't buy it again.

This “true stand†is a glorified wheel holder that isn’t even good at holding wheels. It comes crooked out of the box and there’s no way to find or achieve zero/center or calibrate it in any way. The hardware is cheap and everything is generally loose, making it impossible to true anything accurately.

Hab den Montageständer extra für mein 29-Zoll-Rad bestellt. Lieferung etc war alles gut aber für den Zweck ist das gute Teil leider kaum geeignet. Das Zentrieren war ein einziger Krampf und hat am Ende ewig gedauert.

This has everything needed to build/true a wheel properly, and the price is hard to beat! I saw a few comments complaining about sturdiness, but I did not encounter this issue.

Wäre generell mit dem Zentrierständer zufrieden, leider wurde er defekt geliefert. Laut Amazon gibt es nur die Möglichkeit das gesamte Produkt zurückzuschicken. Ich habe leider keine Möglichkeit gefunden den Verkäufer zu kontaktieren - ich würde der Umwelt zuliebe lieber nur das defekte Teil ersetzten und nicht das ganze Produkt. Sehr schade.
