Remove the test force without shook
There shall be no failure of any component and the furniture shall remain fixed to the test block. The lever handle need not operate after the completion of this test.

With this kit from the House Guard, it's a simple matter to remove your old handle and lock and install the new one. Because the lock is made for your door, you won't have to drill any new holes or worry about properly aligning the hardware. If you purchase one NOT made for your door, there's a good chance you won't be able to replace your handle without having to do changes which can be done, but trust me, it's not worth the effort! Find one made just like the one you're replacing!!First of all, measure the thickness of your door. This one will work on door thicknesses from 1.25" to 2.25" no more or less. Then, on your existing handle, measure the distance between the two mounting screws. This new one measures 3-15/16" and must be the same as the old one. If not, find one that does match your door. Next, make sure the Maltise internal locking mechanism is a single point lock (see image). There are few variations so matching them up should be easy. If they're not the same, find another handle!To Be Continued!

Just wanted to add a lock to existing patio latch. I just payed attention to the measurements and dimensions. It took about 30 minutes to swap out the exterior hardware. You’ll definitely want a dremel tool with cutoff wheel (for adjusting the length of the keyway shaft). Now I am able to lock the patio door from the outside. Seems sturdy enough and very well made. Time will be the true test.

Ok, if you have never installed one of these there are a couple of things you need to know. First, you need to install the lock the correct way. Each one is different so just try it both ways. Next what I found to be the ideal way to install the lock is for that arm to go all way thru and the inside latch inserts onto it. If its too long, take your pliers and bend back and forth at the crease till it breaks. Apply even pressure when putting in the screws and don't overtighten them. Most important, get graphite spray and really coat that lock before installation. I'm old and crazy and still did it so anybody can!

The ad is misleading. This item does not include everything shown in the pictures. You cannot actually change the lock just with what you get in the package. It is literally impossible to do just with what you get and it doesn’t say that anywhere except in tiny print on the back page of the terribly written instructions. Looks like either AI or someone with English as a second language wrote them.Sadly, this is poorly made higher priced absolute garbage. Whatever you do, please don’t make the mistakes I did with this purchase. I started a return less than 30 minutes after delivery.

If your wanting to replace your older park model sliding door this might be what your looking for. Exact replacement for mine and built well with 3 different size screws for different size thickness. Also helpful video link to aid in installation. Highly recommend!

The handle is good quality. Its a little tricky to get the right length of the little bars, so they meet in the middle of the latch. If they are too long, the key won't turn. If they are too short, well, then nothing happens. After 4 trips to the grinder and 2 trial assemblies, I finally got it right. Now I am happy.

This installed very easy. It's sturdy..locks and unlocks perfectly. I'm in ont Canada and I searched every hardware store and could not find one that fit. This one fits perfect.. didn't have to change the inside hardware..it was that easy. I'm very happy with it... the handle is bigger then the original and is so easy to grab to open and close..I'm very pleased!!

simple and easy to install on existing door, replacing existing lock. quality wasn't quite there, as the lock is easy to pick AND the keys got stuck several times when testing after install. for this price, I expected better, but quick shipping and ease of install make up for it in my case. Thanks.

The lock from the inside handle is ok but is very hard to turn with the key from the outside, my wife can't unlock it, it feels like the key will break when i do it.I unfortunately missed the return window by the time i installed it.
