Got one of these as an emergency ascender for alpine climbs. I hope I never need it, but I have tested it out at the gym and it works great on my 9.8mm rope and seems like it would work well on ropes of all sizes if you used an appropriate carabiner with it (Smaller ropes need larger carabiners!).

The ropeman MK2 works really well, the only complaint that I have is that when attempting to loosen unless done very specifically the rope will catch on the teeth. I think they are just a little to deep and it makes it hard to easily loosen. Because of the teeth have somewhat damaged my lineman rope. On the bright side it tightens up butter smooth

Yes, it bites well on an 8mm rope. But I like that it doesn't do that initial 1/8" slip when shifting my weight onto the rope that sometimes occurs on the ropeman 1 on a 12mm rope. This thing bites and I feel very secure. It can definitely put some wear on your rope if you arent opening it fully but I have used this on my tether while saddle hunting numerous times now and I am completely sattisfied with its intended purpose. I believe my tether will hold up for many seasons to come.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the product. The product is fantastic. Only issue is I ordered a black one and got sent the gold one.Just don’t think I want to go through the hassle of having to return the product to get the correct color. It still works just fine color is just the preference for hunting instead of the shiny gold. Can always just try to camouflage it some

I use Gafes to climb the trees that I deer hunt out of. For years I’ve fought with prussic knots trying to adjust them when ascending and descending trees. The first day I used the RopeMan I wanted to kick myself for not having it years before. I can’t believe just how easy it is to take up slack or let out some rope with just one hand.

Other reviewers have said that the Ropeman 2 chews up rope. I’ve used mine at least 6-8 times a week for almost 3 months now while climbing into tree stands using cheap 8mm rope with no issues. Unlike the Ropeman 1, which you can ease some tension off of and slide your rope through, the Ropeman 2 has to be opened completely clear of the rope or the teeth will snag the rope.

Sehr robustes Teil obwohl es so klein ist. Gut im handling allerdings sollte die Öffnungsschlaufe etwas dicker sein. Da wird es fummelig. Habe einen kleinen knoten drangehängt so das ein bessere grip da ist

Nutze den Ropeman 2 derzeit mit einem 10.9mm Seil. Das Montieren ist etwas "knifflig" aber man hat den Dreh schnell raus. Der ropeman 2 tut sehr zuverlässig, was er soll. Ob die Zahnung zu erhöhtem Verschleiß am Seil führen wird, wird sich herausstellen.
